  1. Toss a coin :) ps: I am going to Colorado State to PhD CS program with RA (full tuition and $1600 month stipend) :)
  2. Friend, you should concentrate on your interests, because your education will take 5 long years. And a rank is only a digit, nothing more. Moreover, Computer science (according to wiki page) spans a range of topics from theoretical studies of algorithms and the limits of computation to the practical issues of implementing computing systems in hardware and software. 3. Toss a coin buddy :grad: ps: if you are interested in future finn aid, Colorado is better. My opinion. pss: Also, I've got a PhD admit from CSU too, but my area - Networks. At the end of this week I will have an interview with professors who hold Network Group at CSU. If they will give me some fin aid(Ra,Ta), I am in 99 % will go there. Good luck to you and me
  4. sapkotaupendra, what is your specialization\area of interest? And please share your profile. Thanks.
  5. Guys, please help me to aggregate a good list of universities[PhD and RA or TA] in networking modeling and security. My list: University of Southern California North Carolina State University I will appreciate any comments.
  6. Really, I can not remember the right answers. Good luck.[clap]
  7. Fanatdk, just stay calm at the test and work hard on it. Emotions is not for this test.
  8. About this #6 question: Actually, question looks like that: About question 5: unfortunatelly, I can not 100 % guarantee the right series of numbers. Question is easy.
  9. I took the gre test in Moscow, Russia. The main thing about 2 different Q parts. You do not know, which part will be scored when you will finish the test. I am lucky, because second part was scored. How I guessed that 1st is test? Just the quality of questions, colored datagrams and questions. About anal writing. Actually, I did not wrote ANY essays before gre and toefl exam. I read the topics from this testmagic forums and sum pluses and minuces and, of course, developed my own template to the argument topic.
  10. Well, I've just scan Q from november drrajusgre.com and found these, which I had today, 27 november 2008
  11. Well, I had Q+V+Q First Q was VERY TOUGH, of course, it was a new testing section, but everything was difficult, sometimes I can not understand what do I need to do. I though that I need to gather my clothes and go home. :(The section did not had any question from drragusgre.com Then was Verbal...I know about 2200 words from Barrons and about 40% of them were in real test, Reading was 80, 50, 40 lines. Well, 290 score is not good, but I do not have time to retake it, and no wish for it, im really tired of this test(my preparation takes 2 months). Then started second Q test, I have 5-7 questions from drrajusgre.com and they were 90% the same interpretation. Second Q section was nice, not difficult and I did it in time. Then I recieved a result. Thats all. Ask anything if you have some problems. Good luck.:grad: btw: anal writing was really easy and I did not have any problems with it.
  12. hi guys, Took the test 40 min ago total = 290+760 = 1050 I will apply to top30-50, Phd in Computer Science, area: network modeling and security my topics in anal writing 1."The most effective way to communicate an idea or value to large groups of people is through the use of images, not language." 2. The following appeared in a memo from the vice president of a company that builds shopping malls throughout the country. "The surface of a section of Route 101, paved two years ago by McAdam Road Builders, is now badly cracked and marred by dangerous potholes. In another part of the state, a section of Route 66, paved by Appian Roadways more than four years ago, is still in good condition. Appian Roadways has recently purchased state-of-the-art paving machinery, and it has hired a new quality-control manager. Because of its superior work and commitment to quality, we should contract with Appian Roadways rather than McAdam Road Builders to construct the access roads for all our new shopping malls." good luck everyone

    Urgent

bkc, plz explain in details question 1 why you decided that N20 and N21 is 74 ? And if it is true, why the result is 78? IF N20+N33 = (74+78)/2 = 76? I cant understand
  14. about question 8. I think it is D, because: First numbers is 10 to 19 is 3 times and last 50-59 3 times. So, for example, first can be: 17,18,19; last - 50,51,52 and range is 52-17 = 35 And if it is: 10,11,12 and 50,51,52, then 52-10 = 42
  15. Dr Raju's Institute of Graduate Studies Abroad :: View topic - November 24th GRE Quant Thread(Updated) Please check answers: 5. D Explain plz Explain plz
  16. Please tell me the truth... Simple problem: Find the number of integers that are not divisible by 7 between 67 and 177? Number of divisible: 175=70+(d-1)7 => d = 16 Then I need to calculate numbers between 67 and 177..Should I include bumber 67 and number 177?
  17. Well, it is tricky question, because the main question is about the volume of cylinders, NOT the water volume in both cylinders. If the question would sound like whis: what is more, amount of water in first or second cylinder, then, of course, answer is B.
  18. 1. 4 2. B 3. C 4. C 5. D (but not 100%) 6. 4 let the total students be (100+x) we need to find x. 25% of 100+x got A grade ie 25%(100+x)=22+x x=4 ......
  19. I calculated in this way: at least one of them is even, then possible combinations: even+odd or odd+even or even+even 5/10 * 5/10 + 5/10 * 5/10 + 5/10 * 5/10 = 3/4
  20. Thanks in question 8. Did not carefully read the question and, btw, it was a midnight :)
  21. Thanks for Q1, it was stupid mistake.
  22. Here is a new stuff to relax = Dr Raju's Institute of Graduate Studies Abroad :: View topic - November 21st GRE Quant Thread(Updated) My answers: 1. B, 1 and 6 2. C 3. more info needed 4. B 5. B. 6. d / [2*(h+50)] 7. C 8. 3.7 9. need more info, but question, seems to me, not tough.
  23. sorry for my typo in previous post: I mean these series: Y = 6, 9 N= 1, 4,
  24. bkc, I can not argee with you, because question ask to find least values of N and Y Here is series of possible N and Y: Y = 6, 9 N= 1, 4, which gives the series of numbers divisible to 3 without remainder: 819,849 Least values is (6;1)
