  1. Thanks a lot for the responses. After reading the responses and talking to friends, I think I won't retake the test and instead work on other aspects of the application process. Can you suggest any sites other than businessweek.com for gathering information about the application process? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware of such a thing. You said that people are applying now to meet the Jan deadline, which would be the deadline for 2nd round. Is it worth applying for the second round. I am planning to wait and apply next year for 2005, but is it worth applying now for Fall 2004. Should I try a couple of universities? (provided that I can write the essays for a couple of universities) Thanks
  3. I took it in Dec. Are the tests in one month more difficult compared to another month?
  4. What's adcom officers? Guys, thanks for the input. I will look around other mailing lists and see what kinds of scores, work experiences, etc the schools look for. Any suggestions on what sites I need to start visiting to get more information about the whole GMAT criteria? Sites or yahoo groups that are meant for discussion for people applying for fall 2004 and 2005? Thanks
  5. I scored 730 (97 %ile, 50 in Q and 38 in V). Even though it is a good score, I am a little disappointed because I was not able to finish the verbal section (I missed 2 questions on Verbal, I finished Quant with about a minute to spare). The 2 questions could have boosted my score to about 750 :( Anyway, I can't undo the past but I am considering to retake the test. If I retake it, I think I will be able to get around 760. So my question for the pundits on the forum : Is it worth taking the test to boost the score by 30? Or should I devote more time on other aspects of the application? Time is on my side as I plan to apply for Fall 2005. Does it greatly matter to a university if a candidate's score is 730 or it is 760? What tier of schools should I apply? (ranking 10 through 20) or (20 - 30) My background: 2 yrs 3 months of work experience, masters degree in comp science from the Ohio State university. As far as the test goes, the quant was easy and similar to [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], maybe even a tad bit easier. The probability and permutation & combinations questions were very easy. On the verbal, 1 RC was about 80 lines, the other 3 were atmost 45 or 50 lines. CR was the most difficult aspect of the verbal, so please concentrate on CRs. CRs were a little difficult than the ones in the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip]. The SCs and RCs were of the same level.
