  1. You're welcome! I hope it has helped with getting into grad school :) A few updates... I got into grad school (PhD program @ uf), so the effort was definitely worth it! And thank you everyone on the board for the advice and suggestions! I have made a few *invisible* updates to the site that help it in the word training. I have made *many* more programming updates as I venture through the computer science world. One of the interesting features i think are the metrics over time :) And to come is facebook integration with a few interesting features. Thanks again for the support! Charles
  2. + 10% verbal. also, found this interesting. scores wrt major ftp://ftp.ets.org/pub/gre/generaldistribution.pdf
  3. The corresponding verbal review: http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/GRE/pdf/011499.GRE.pdf
  4. Your Welcome! Regarding the Math portion. I found the following study guide/review from ETS: http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/GRE/pdf/GREmathPractice.pdf
  5. Your welcome koolsatti! I will be taking it late October.... which wow, is coming rather fast!
  6. Thank you Neison, I'm really glad its helping you and you like it :) You are correct, it keeps track of which words you know and dont know. Removing learned words and adding new ones as you use it. When you do finish a list, it will go into review mode, reviewing the words which gave you trouble. Correct, I moved it to greatvocab.com to not discourage SAT use :) I was also very surprised to see people getting into the 100+ (and even 700+) ranges so fast. Thanks again! Charles
  7. I just checked, every word in there is included in the site between the two lists.
  8. Are you actually writing it? This might help... Words in the GRE list the site also trains you on them. No writing required :) Charles

  10. I made some major updates to the program. It will now: -Ask you to complete a sentence. -Pick a word from the definition -Pick a definition from the word Hope this helps, I don't know if you guys tried it but i'm learning a lot from it :)
  11. Thank you awatarn! If I can change anything to make it more usable let me know. Charles
  12. Hello All, I am studying to retake the GRE to improve my verbal score. I am an engineer/web programmer and made a tool i developed into a web application after requests from friends. It has a few nice features, but all of them are centered around one thing: teach me the vocabulary. It will not perform magic such as teaching you the word list in one day, but if you are looking for a good way to attack over 5000 words this will do the trick. Please feel free to check it out, GRE Vocabulary Training, and let me know what you think. I am always open to feedback! (Especially on what i can do to improve my own score :) ) Charles
  13. Hello Boryana, I'm glad to hear you did well, especially how you studied for it. I took the exam once, and did quite poor on the verbal (500). At first my excuse was that I am an engineering student... well, thats not acceptable. But my analytical nature did lead me to create a tool to help me out. Its a program which trains people on words through a quiz like format. It shows synonyms, antonyms, and the words in context from actual published text. Originally the tool was for my personal use, but a few of my peers showed interest so i have made it into an online app. The website is pretty cool i think, and uses many of the methods you have used. I hope it can help others do as well, check it out GRE Vocabulary Training Charles
