  1. Dear friends, First of all, I would like to thank everybody who posted a reply to this thread. I was worried after my NAPLEX exam because when I was checking with the book, I realized that I had answered a lot of questions incorrectly. More importantly I answered incorrectly to a lot of easy questions. However, in spite of that, I scored 99. I know this is not a good score. However the score atleast proves that in order to just pass the NAPLEX, we can afford to make a few mistakes:D
  2. Dear Everybody, I have a question regarding the Naplex. Out of 185 questions that are asked in the exam, how many questions (approximately) do u require to answer correctly in order to pass the exam? I know its a computer-adaptive exam and the scores are scaled, but just wanted an idea about the number of questions that need to be answered correctly?
  3. I too have received my intern license....have been looking for a pharmacy intern position since the last 4 months but no luck yet....I need a transfer of my current H1...any advice how to get an internship??
  4. Dear friends, I have passed the FPGEE as well as the IBT and am waiting for the FPGEE certificate. In the meantime, can I apply for internship positions to companies while waiting for the certificate?? My second question is, is there any state where I can apply for intern license without actually having the FPGEE certificate?? Thanks everybody.
  5. Dear friends, The purpose of this post is not to boast of myself, rather to provide confidence to those who might not manage enough time to prepare for the exam. I had passed Pharmacy in 2000. Now I work full time for a company and morover, had my PhD (bioengineering) defense on 1st week of December. As all of you might know, the FPGEE was on 6th of December. So I had roughly around 3 full days to prepare. I had already registered for the December exam since my initial plan was to defend my PhD in 1st week of November so that I had 1 month of preparation time. However that plan did not work out and I had to take the exam with only 3 days left... Obviously it wasn't feasible to study the entire CPR in 3 days....so I studied only 3 chapters: Nervous system, CVS and Autacoids. I felt that the chapter Infectious Diseases was also very important and so I spent the entire night before the exam day reading that chapter. Now I think, that was the only mistake I had made because due to lack of sleep, I was having terrible headache during the second session of the exam. I should have had a good sleep instead!!!! After the exam, I felt I had a 50-50 chance of passing. So I was preparing myself for the next (April 2009) exam. But when I checked the score, it was 88..... Obviously, its not a good score but my goal was only to pass and I succeeded in that. So this is what is my advice for the future test-takers, whose goal is only to pass with little time left to prepare: First study those chapters which u feel like not remembering anything. In my case, that was Pharmacology. No need to memorize anything...simply read the chapters and try to grasp the concepts (mechanism of action and how is it related to adverse effects and drug interactions). I felt the exam is not about specific things but general concepts. And u have to guess for a lot of answers. The better are your concepts, more is the likelihood of being able to correctly guess. So if you are confident of your basic understandings and concepts, it does not require a lot of preparation time to just pass the exam.......Wish everybody all the best............
  6. i understand that we have to read other books to cover all the topics mentioned in the blueprint. What I wanted to know is that, are there any additional chapters in CPR (apart from those mentioned above) that need to be studied for the FPGEE??
  7. Dear friends, As par the FPGEE blueprint, I believe its not worth to study all the chapters in the CPR (6th edition) for the FPGEE. I believe the following chapters are the important ones: Chapters 1-18, 20-24, 26-28, 35-44, 49, 54, 56-61. Please let me know what you guys think. I mean should we add or omit more chapters to this list!!!!
  8. Dear friends, My doubt is regarding the following problems: CPR 6th edition, Chapter 6, Questions 2-5 In the answer and explanation provided, the book doesn't show taking into account the effect of protein binding. Please let me know what u guys think. Thanks.
  9. Dear friends, I would appreciate if any one of you could please answer/inform me regarding my query: I received a letter from NABP dated 23rd September that it has received my application/ registration materials but still waiting for the ECE Report. I called ECE today and ECE replied that it had sent the report on 30th September and that NABP received the report on 1st October (ECE provided me the FEDEX tracking number as well). But when I called NABP today (13th October), the customer service representative told me that NABP has not received the report and that I should call them tomorrow. I have the following questions: 1)How long does it normally take NABP to send the registration number after it receives the report from ECE? 2) NABP website mentions that in order to take the DEC 2008 exam, one must register before 24th October. Does registration mean registering for the exam online after receiving the registration number or does it mean sending the FPGEE application form? 3) From your experience, do I have any chance of being able to appear for the December exam?? Thank you so much for your time.
