Hi, I have been admitted to the Fall 2009 for MS in computer science. I did my BE in Electronics from India and now planning to pursue MS in a different field.Could anybody please help me out with the course selection for my first semester.Should I take Discrete Mathematics in the first semester since that is a prerequisite for many other courses.I am planning to take Data structures and Computer Architecture too..Are my choice of courses good?:idea:It would be great if anybody could tell what would be best to take but hope you dont forget that I have done my BE in Electronics.I have the basics of C,C++,Unix,Perl,Tcl/Tk,a little of Java and CSharp. Hi, I have been offered admission to a University but they have asked me to submit the degree certificate which has been stamped by the VTU registrar from belgaum.I have submitted a copy which has been attested by my college and not the University but that will not do.Anyone here from bangalore who has faced this similar problem.I am right now in the US and totally confused as to how to approach this problem since getting it attested from Belgaum is goin to be a tough task.Is there any way of getting it done in Bangalore.Are there any VTU officials in Bangalore.Help is highly appreciated. Hey , I am planning to continue in H4 itself coz I will have to go to India this year end and moreover my University tuition fees are less if I am considered as instate resident which is possible only if I have H4 visa... So finally I have decided to continue in H4...:tup: Thnks for your advice..... Will be very much in touch with this forum...:)

Hey, I just received a letter from my university -They asked me if I am going to change my status from H4 to F1 here in the U.S. (by mail, which can take upwards of 6 months), or, whether they have to issue me an I-20 to travel outside of the U.S. and obtain an F-1 visa...What does this mean (change status in US)and which is the best option..Could you please help me out with this urgently.

Thanks Tino for the advice....I am planning to study first semester in H4 itself,then go to India and then once I come back will change to F1...This is if I dont get a TA/GA right now.. If I get some financial aid..then I will have to rethink.....:(

Hey Guys, I am a newbie to this forum..I found this forum and its members very helpful..I also need guidance on my Visa issue.. I came to US on H4 visa and now I have got admission for MS for the fall qaurter 2009..I want to go to India this december and I am aware that if I change my visa to F1 ,I may be rejected stamping when in India... Can I apply for F1 and not change the status (remain in h4)..then go to India for the F1 stamping and if they reject F1 ,can i still come to US on my H4 visa which is valid for one more yr.:hmm: Thanks in adivce for your help
