  1. For two years I've been jealous about people still in school and 'lucky' enough to be taking exams and learning as opposed to working for 'the man' in the real world. I imagine this looks to change.
  2. Tea leaf readers achieve similar outcomes, seeing signs where, when, and in which fashion they're convenient. =)
  3. Shoot them both, or forever the soul shall lament the possibility of being wrong.
  4. I'm a strict environmentalist by nature. Lengthy response typed up, then remembered this was an economics forum, not a place to debate ethical morality and its perpetual absence in everyday life.
  5. And save a life. Life is precious, even if our CVM models report differently.
  6. Save the fish. Let its life not be spent in vain. No need to sacrifice something that was never ours to begin with. Instead, just send a virtual middle finger. The fish lives, resources are not wasted (a few watts vs. a sentient being's life), UMass gets theirs in the end, and we all feel a little bit better. Everyone wins!
  7. Senioritis hit me BAD during my last quarter in school. Still managed A's, but my heart wasn't in it. I can only imagine how much further you're out of touch with school knowing your grades now don't have much sway in your already bright future!
  8. I wonder if this has ever been successfully done. I didn't hear anything back from USC. The point is that we paid them for a service and you'd figure we're entitled to something for our efforts, other than silence. Haha, I've actually started a letter to them that will include a humble request for my app fee back.
  9. Yeah, I feel ya. I don't like thinking $$ matters (in regard to CO), but it does. I haven't told my fiance yet (she's still sleeping). Haha, the "wow, you get to study in SB!" thing doesn't do much for me, again, since I did undergrad in La Jolla. But yeah, time to put everything behind me and move forward. UCSB was my top 3 choice since I started my apps. After getting to know the amazing faculty and upward trend in placements, I do feel better. I guess I could have done far, far worse.
  10. And the verdict is in. No funds at UMD AREc. More accepted the funded offer than they expected. UCSB, here I come.
  11. Not the happy kitten I was hoping to be, but I guess we can't all win at the end of the day. Didn't get funding at UMD AREc as I was hoping. Admitted very early, thought my chances of coming off the $WL were strong, but more people accepted their offer than they expected. Looks like it's UCSB for me.
