how did you get the bolded part? i.e, why did you flip to 4/5 and the 2/3?

so my goal is to aim for the 700's. I have plenty of time to study(4 months), but I want to use all my time efficiently. I,e I want to study, but also be exposed to as many similar comparable test quesitions as possible. This is what I have: OG verbal OG math OG 11th edition manhattan SC. If I focus just on these 4 books, and also take practice CAT's from various sources regularly, have I covered all my bases? I notice that the OG 11th is quite heavy and thick, so I'm debating whether I should throw all my energy on this, or I need to look for to other sources too. I dont want to spend all 4 months on these 4 books, and then kick myself saying "I should have looked at ________(kaplan, manhattan, EZ, PR, etc etc). throughts?

so for the past 3 weeks, I have been refreshing my gmat math with the princeton review. by no means am I 100% on all the math concepts, but I have the gist of it and I think more practice problems will solidify the concepts in my mind. Should I go ahead and jump to the OG math, or should I start on a Kaplan math workout first? I dont plan to take the exam any time soon, maybe March, April or May of 2009. My initial plan was to work in this order: Princeton review math, Kaplan math, OG math, and in the beginning of 2009, start taking practice exams from the OG and other sources until a test date. However, right now, I'm just wondering if I should just spend more time on OG math, rather then doing a Kaplan math workout. Does the OG math have enough information that it does't require kaplan?

I'm very rusty and weak in all the areas of the gmat. weakest is math, then reading comp, then sentence correction. My plan is to buy a book to 'relearn' the topics and understand the concepts of all these areas first for a couple months so I dont waste any practice cats. What books do you guys suggest that will help teach the concepts and with a emphasis on GMAT related questions? I want a seperate book for each topic.

At first, I wanted to start to study for the GMAT for a Fall 2009 admission, but thinking about it, I think it is better for me to take my time, study thoroughly to ensure I get the best possible score. I'm in a situation where my undergraduate GPA is below the requirement, so I'm really aiming for a perfect GMAT score(or very close to it). So right now, I will plan on being admitted for Fall 2010. With plenty of time in my hands, how long does it take someone to study to get an excellent score? and are there 'strategies' since now time is not an issue here? I'm a full time working adult, so I can't cram every day. I want to take advantage of time.

ok, so maybe I"m not dumb, but I do feel stupid a lot of times. I'm planning to go back to school to pursue an mba, and want to take the exam sometime next summer, so I need some advice as I"m not the smartest person when it comes to these types of exams. my track record: -B.A mathematics(but 2.47gpa) -high school SAT 1000(without studying, 500 on both) -high school ACT 21(without studying) -non-english speaker, but been here for 13 years and speak fluent english, but not familiar with a lot of vocab. A you guys can see, I"m really not the brightest peson around, but I want to think about my future and I want to hide my B.A degree gpa as much as possible. The school said they would consider my admission depending on my GMAT, so I really *Must* score as high as possible for this. Considering I have 6 to 8 months for this, anyone have any suggestions on how to study for this? any tips or experiences?

well, i'm talking about in U.S. I'm just trying to wonder what I need to focus on in terms of my particular job. the practice test has a bunch of stuff about clerical stuff and taxation and I dont know if I need to know them. Im more interested in studying for the statistics portion(if there is one)

I'm taking the civil service exam in about 2 weeks, and dont really know how to prepare. I guess i'm just gonna go over the practice exams, but what else should I do? the job im applying for is "statistical analyst," so I dont know what to do. will the test only cover the basic materials as in all the practice exams, or should I start brushing up on my statistics formula too?

I hae a friend, who is going to take the GRE in japan. The school she wants to go to is in Oklahoma, USA.........and they said the deadline is "mid feb." My friend still needs time to study for it, but if she takes it in Mid jan............... will the scores arrive on time?

so here is the deal, my gf, wants to come to U.S to for graduate school. She was gonna take her GRE in her country, but the thing is that, they dont offer Computer based at her school...and the paper test is only offered once a year, in october. Her current TOEFL is a few years old, and it is going to expire in January 30th 2005..... So to save her from studying 2 exams, and to let her go to graduate school asap, we thought about having her coming to the United States on a visitor visa, and taking the test in december. one thing is that it will let her take the test, and the other good thing is that she can see me!! but anyways, I want to make sure it is possible. If she comes to take the test in america, is it ok? It's not breaking any rules right? I mean, since she is gonna study in america, I would assume that even if she didnt take the test that is administered at her school, it would be ok... even if she is a visitor, she can still test right? oh yea, she was a u.s exchange student, if that effects anything

First of all, I am really sorry for posting so much complaints about not getting guru's wordlist to work; It is just that I need to study it, as soon as possible. I was just recently forced to reformat my pc, so I don't have guru's wordlist on my pc anymore......and like I said, the program posted online wont' install correctly. I noticed that the problem w/ it is that it will not unzip correctly....so I was thinking if someone can post the unzipped files somwhere or email it to me, it would work.......there are only 6 of them.......so not too much.... can someone try??

I was just wondering if any of you guys know why guru's word list wont work anymore....I have trouble instlling it..............:-(

I tried to d/load the latest version of guru's wordlist, and when I install the file, it said "someone might have tampered w/ the database file...plesae reinstall....." is tehre a way to fix this problem?
