  1. I have no idea where I stand, but EDITED answered only 1-2 of my emails in the last four years. Not a good showing--for me, for him
  2. Dear Office of Civil Rights: I regularly read a website related to applicants for graduate economics programs on http://www.www.urch.com/forums/phd-economics/. Recently, an applicant posed a question to the other applicants that is illegal to ask in job interviews: he asked the age of the applicants. I protested that this job interview question was illegal, and many of the posters seemed to find this to be funny so they posted all the more. In this economy, ageism has become a more significant issue, and the tolerance of illegal job interview questions in quasi-employment website forums muddies the waters as to what is legal and illegal to ask and answer within a job interview situation. The moderators of this website only eliminate questions when their feelings are hurt: they are not cognizent of the illegality of questions in employment contexts. Officials from graduate programs read these websites and are able to discern the ages of the applicants to their programs. During the hiring stages, they will have earlier information to know the ages of job applicants. This is illegal, and regardless of the humor involved in openly testing employment laws, it weakens the protections and rules for applicants in the job market. Since the moderators will not interfere unless their feelings get hurt, I hope the Civil Rights Office will review this website for breaking employment interview laws. Thank you in advance for your work on this matter. Sorry!!!!
