  1. Which Barrons edition is the most recent? 17th?
  2. Thanks for your insightful comments Goldust. I have started with the ETS Math Review which is very helpful on account of I haven't used my math skills (aside from basic addition subtraction etc) in about 4 years, but about the questions at the end of the sections. Are these realistic GRE problems or moreso framework to which the problem will be structured? The Quantative section is comprised of more word problems or actual calculations? I feel like this is a naive question but I have to ask anyways...Is a calculator allowed/even necessary when taking the GRE? I just have no idea.....
  3. Hello, I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I have been reading a lot about preparation methods for the GRE and would really appreciate some feedback. I plan on taking the GRE in mid to late August and will take the summer to prepare. I will be working full time so I am beginning to feel like an online class or solo preparation will be my best option. I have also done some research regarding online courses. Testmasters, Kaplan and Princeton Review seem like the big names (who also are asking for big bucks). What are the major differences between these three? Also I have seen 800score.com that offers a relatively cheap, but seemily quite thorough online course. Does anyone know anything about 800score? Is it helpful? Is it worth spending the time with this program? Books: I have also been reading about GRE Prep books and have seen that Barron's 17th edition and the GRE Big Book seem to be very popular for the verbal sections. How do they stack up in the quantitative section? Does anyone have any suggestions about good books to use to self prep for the GRE? I am also thinking about applying to Grad School overseas in Europe, Canada and South America as well as in the United States. Do most schools worldwide accept GRE for admissions? Surely there are universites that don't require the GRE for admissions into the master's program, but are there other admissions tests? Thank you in advance for your input.
