  1. Hi, Thanks for your response and feedback.Yes,my target program is a top US MBA..and my GPA is 3.5 (missed that in last post). Please suggest top tier and few good tier 2 programs that fit my profile and my short-term and long-term goals. However,my concern is that my application would take some more time to complete.By the time it is ready, most of the top tier schools' R1 deadline would surpass and I might end up applying in R2.Will it hurt my chances , or will the adcoms look at my application irrespective of the date on which it reaches them..Please advise. Thanks a lot for your suggestions. Regds, dart2gmat
  2. please evaluate my profile Hi Sir/Ma'm, Would be really helpful if you please evaluate my profile as below. Short Term Goal : My STG and 'why MBA now?' is because I want to use this point in my career to move towards a career in Marketing Consulting/Strategy where I would be able to make use of both my skills learnt at work and my experiences away from work. Long Term Goal : My LTG would be to work into my passion arena,i.e,Cause Marketing, using my industry exposure from STG and my work with social ventures till now and help build a bridge between corporates and social causes, one step ahead of CSR.Finally,I would like to provide consulting solutions to them to help them grow in funds, strengthen in Operations and create a bigger social brand through industry to the public domain. Please suggest Tier-1 and Tier-2 schools in US that match my profile and the work I want to do in life. Thanks a lot for your assistance. Regds, dart2gmat

  4. OG is OG dude..it obviously is not of GMAT standard..but nothing can give you a better feel of real GMAT questions than the OG..OG is made not for tough practise..but to get used to the language of real GMAT questions..so try and solve OG in a different way..the language, the solution approaches are the few things you should use OG for..
  5. Dude,690 is a good enough score..however,R1 is still few months away..you already have a good score in hand..what is the harm in taking some time out and re-taking the exam?..a better test experience will anyway do you a whole world of good..even if worser things happen, with the experience or the score..not to worry, you already have a decent score to apply to schools.. So I would suggest, since you have quite some time in hand, and you are confident of doing better, give it another shot!
  6. Hi, I have a generic query.Need some info please.I have often heard that your post-MBA salary figures depends also on the pre-MBA salary and pre-MBA relevant experience. In such cases, for people who want a career switch(industry/function),but has good number of years of experience, will such a experience not be a factor at all during post-MBA salary? e.g one has a exp of 5 yrs in IT(earns well) and wants to switch to finance. So will the finance job salary after MBA not value the experience of 5 yrs in IT at all?If it does, what will it consider as a factor?only the work exposure or the salary figure as well.If not, then it well may be that his finance job has a lesser salary than his IT job salary. Please explain. Regds, dart2gmat
  7. Dude..dont get beaten down..you hate the GMAT,thats good..keep that hatred high up, only then you will be able to ace it..on a positive note,I think you are pretty good in Verbal. You have been consistently scoring in the higher 20s and mid 30s in verbal,so verbal is your forte, keep working and polishing it..So your verbal problem is almost not there..You will just need to improve upon your quant. Dude,I feel firstly what you should do is strike off all the strategies that you've followed in the past 2 attempts,as they didnt fetch you anything, nor any improvement.Secondly,I think studying 8 hours everyday for 2 months is not a good idea.Cut it down..you are studying so much means you are not following the right way to practise.Just make a set of questions you want to complete everyday, and MOST IMPORTANTLY,do not forget to go through the answer solutions, even if you are correct..And analyse your errors after every mock exam.It should always be a relaxed study time of 2-3 hours a day, planned and effective. Just sit back, relax and think and chalk out a strategy plan.Success debriefings on this forum may help you out. Best of luck. dart2gmat
  8. Hi, 41 in Maths is not good and not enough at all..but compared to your verbal score, its great!..:) Its another 6 points,47 is considered the "start" of good and goes as 48-49-50-51 Verbal,a standard dedicated preparation can fetch you a 35..a 32 atleast is considered average.. goes till any score..till 51 again!..though a 40 itself is considered a very good score! So a 47/32 would catapult your score to 630-640..whereas a 49-50/35-36 will hit the magic 700! Hope you got an idea..start off again..all the best for July..and yes, consistency is the key..it is the same mistake that I did..I got a 550 last October..and I will retake this June again..(have not yet started my preparation) Cheers, dart2gmat
