  2. FYI, I received an offer of admission from Arkansas today. If you haven't heard yet, you should soon.
  3. Well, this old guy (almost 40) got his first acceptance today. I can't say where, because it is unofficial and I was asked not to, although the email was from the director of admissions so I think its official enough. I can say it is a middle of the road finance program at a major research institution. The best part is that it wasn't even my safety school. I was unlucky in the respect that there is only one program that would be considered close enough for me to stay where I'm at. However, even though I have a wife and three kids, my family is okay with moving. We don't really have strong ties here. That made it easier.
  4. I'm 37 with a wife and three kids. I know that some schools age discriminate, even though they are not supposed to. I understand and really don't have a problem with it. However, I have no idea how to find out which schools they are. Some schools list info on their sites about their current students, but many do not. Even if they do, having no older students does not mean that they discriminate. Casting a wide net is about all there is to do.
  5. Are there any programs or researchers that have green/environmental marketing as a specialty?

I took the GMAT last year and scored a 750, but I only studied for two weeks and had the stomach flu, which caused me to miss 10 minutes of the quantitative section while getting sick, not to mention the fact that I felt like death. I was disappointed, but I really couldn't complain about my score and figured that the risk/reward of retaking it wasn't worth it. I applied for 2009 and got an offer from Florida State and was a finalist at a few other similar or better schools before withdrawing (my mom is dying and I wanted to spend some time with her). I'm ready to apply again for 2011 and was thinking of taking the GRE. I know I could have done better on the GMAT but do not want to retake it because a 750 is terriffic. I am considering taking the GRE because it would give me the opportunity to improve my score (I firmly believe I can get 800's). The way I see it, if I do better, I can report my GRE scores, and if I don't, I still have the GMAT. Am I wasting my time? Would higher scores on the GRE really help me? My condensed profile: 3.97 from a terrible (but accredited) school 4.0 (in progress) from a 2nd tier MBA program Current Research Assistant in entrepreneurship 30 something years old Nothing else to really hang my hat on. Basically, I'm a freaky genius who came from a really poor family and didn't realize my potential until a few years ago.
