Hi guys, I am currently a PhD student at NCSU. Also I am admitted to Pitt. Do you guys think it is worth it to transfer to Pitt from NCSU? I know NCSU is good at in Econometrics but I do not want to do research on Econometrics. I want to do research in Applied Economics, Labor Economics, and Development. Maybe I can add another topics but definetely not Econometrics. How about the future? Is it more likely to find a better job once you have a degree from Pitt rather than from NCSU? I know it also depends on your research but how about the professors that you are going to work with? Their recommendation letters, contacts, etc? Here, at NCSU, they have too many students and they do not have enouhg professors to mentor them. (That was told us by one of our professors) and it is a big concern for me. I think that is not like that in Pitt, right? I know the atmosphere at NCSU and I am not happy here. How about Pitt guys? Are you guys happy there? Is it worth it to sacrifice one more year from your life when I transfer to Pitt? Please help to solve my confusion....
