  1. My expirience told me "NO". I once attend an interview for admission, The professor was very dissapointed at the absence of Real Analysis on my transcript (He said Real Analysis is basically required). When I showed him my Complex Analysis credit, he refer it as "irrelevant".
  2. I prefer interest to market. Job market changes fast. Decision based on the long-time market predection is no better than throwing a coin. Interest could be much more stable. To choose a field of genuine interest is to reduce your cost per output and the reduction is independent of the market. That's a solid way of increasing your expected profit.
  3. Thanks Wasleys and Erin. It's very kind of you to give me these explanations.
  4. Dear Wasleys, Upon receiving your five infraction points, I immediately reread the forum rules and now I confess that I break the rules. However, psychologically I feel a little unfair on my issue. In the thread where I did my improper post the OP asked "Do you have a company that you trust and could recommend?" for proofreading service. I was stupid enough to give him a direct answer and got the five infraction points. I feel unfair for two reasons. First my motivation is good. I know the importance of proofreading in the application for PhD in economics for a non-native speaker because I am a non-native speaker myself. I am sympathetic about the OP's problem and I am willing to share with him my own experience in solving the problem. Second I feel like falling into a trap: anyone who directly answer the OP's question will break the forum rule because he asked for a trusted brand name for a kind of service. Unfortunately I am the only person who fell into that trap. I'm just complaining and I have no intention in challenging your authority in giving me the five infraction points. Best Statistical Cat
  5. I trust EssayEdge for its timely delivery. I purchased their proofreading severce more than five times and they never missed the deadline (24 or 48 hours, depending on how much you are willing to pay). Its shortcomings are also obvious to me: expensive ($150-250 for a typical SOP) and doing nothing beyond fixing technical problems in my English.
