  1. Hello guys, I wanted to ask if you could share the sets of math problems you compiled during your preparations. I have found one on probability and combinatorics, however wanted more on DS. Please share what you have.
  2. Yes, this might be a way of thinking. However, I think you made these conclusions assuming D is correct. What I would say - this question semms to be pretty tricky, I suppose you might have guessed the right answer, presuming A is a trap, but the intention is to catch their logic. Because in general I can't undestand the main idea behind the correct answer. I must admit the main problem is between A and D. A - why can't we use the other country as a proof that our hypothesis works. It shows that in other country the same situation exists. We have police guys trained with SWAT and they also shoot the suspects. This expands and broadens our hypothesis. D - tells something about proportions. This also might be true. Because my suspect is that if we had only SWAT trained people involved for the arrests we wouldn't be able to judge about their behaiviour because we wouldn't know how the untrained people would behave in the same situation. So, to really check the affect of the SWAT training on a behaiviour we need to have a mix of people involved. These are my general ideas. Maybe I'm missing something and not seeing the main problem. Pleas advise what you think.
  3. SWAT training Police officers in Smith County who receive Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) training spend considerable time in weapons instruction and practice. This time spent developing expertise in the use of guns affects the instincts of Smith County officers, making them too reliant on firearms. In the past year in Smith County, in 12 of the 14 cases in which police officers shot suspects while attempting to make an arrest, the officer involved had received SWAT training, although only 5 percent of the police force as a whole in the county had received such training. Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument above? a) In an adjacent county, all of the cases in which police shot suspects involved officers with SWAT training. b) SWAT training stresses the need for surprise, speed, and aggression when approaching suspects. c) Only 15 percent of Smith County’s SWAT training course is devoted to firearms lessons. d) Among officers involved in the arrest of suspects in Smith County in the past year, the proportion who had received SWAT training was similar to the proportion who had received SWAT training in the police force as a whole. e) Some Smith County officers without SWAT training have not been on a firing range in years. The official answer is D. Can you please help me and explain in a little bit more details, because I was searching the forum, found the old post, but the explanation there is not enough for me to undestand. Broke my head already, your help is much appreciated. Many thanks)
