    tse rescoring

Hi there, I got my score for my test in May, also 45. But since I read in the tse bulletin that 45 and 50 belong to same level : [Communication generally effective: task performed competently. ] SO, I was wondering whether 45 is not useful at all or it is almost same useful as 50. What's the difference actually between 45 and 50 anyway? BTW, I'm thinking about rescoring it currently. Did anyone got a better score after having it rescored?
  2. Hi, I'm taking it on 23,Oct. But my RC sections aren't goog enough. I usually read through the whold passage, or I think that it's hard to make choices. But I've also heard that to finish the passage in a short time, you can't really read the whold page, should skim the passage instead. But I don't know how to skim, like what to read and what to ignore. Can anyone tell me the precise steps of doing a passage? Anyone finished the test with good RC scores please suggest me about how to make fews errors in it. I usually make 4 or 3 errors for a single long RC paper. Any suggestions? And how long should I spend on that section during a 30mins? Thank you.
  3. This is my first essay on the issue section, please tell me what you guys think about it ,( I want to get a 6 on the AWA.) Please tell me what I should improve if I want a 6.0. "wisdom is rightfully attributed not to people who know what to look for in life but to people who know what to overlook." Wisdom is something that highlights a man's capability of surviving in life. It is difficult to make one's life in his or her own way, which have been proved since there was life, however, we can live life and sometimes we can live a happy everyday life by our own understanding of life, to gain this wisdom, the extent to which we look at and overlook things are essential. From born to death, people were raised in the human society, which provides a certain format of most aspects of life. So, here come competition, stress, happiness and depression, common in people's life though, why we have those human feelings are because we have different persuits in life. Some may choose a delicate, lesieur life with no stress life, and will spend most of their lives on this wonderful persuit. While some others may consider richness to be their destination. And there are also people who enjoy discovering the unknown areas such as, space technology, gene theropy, or why life is life. Whatever people's persuits are, it is all our own wishes and dreams that prompt us forward in the turbulance in the beautiful world. And as a core of social development-competition exists from kids cradles to computer tests, personal achievenments and success become the content of life. But how to accomplish all our aims effeciently? As an oldline says, a good begining is half done. Without a clear destination in life, how can one choose the right and suitable way to go? And what to do in life will become a never ever exist undoubtable question in those people's lives, most probably these people are just what the statement above considered to be wise. Depression and even committing suicide will come into people's minds very commonly if they have lost their dreams and hope in life, according an article on Depression in the magazine of Personal Growth, 1998 edition. In this busy world now, everybody is running to their aims and giving theri best shot at their dreams, many of them have the freewill to work hard through scores of years to reach their dreams. Some may succeed and become heros, while some others will not. But both are happy, because they live a balanced life, through the wisdom of living, they gain equipoise on the scale of well-being and toughness. These people are wise, since they understand life better than those who don't overlook what they could not have in life, for those who lose, they have experienced the happiness in the procedure of reaching their dreams. Appreciating this special experience and other things they have gained through this procedure, they found their own position and happiness in life. A happy family, wonderful children or a faithful friend, and the discovery of another new interest are all their blessings even though they lost something they want in the beginnings. For those who achieved their dreams, happiness come as they expected, and they enjoy the " no pay, no gain" format of life, which may change their life henceforth. Why do some win and some lose? Luck is no proof. What is needed is a clear concept of what I want and who I am in mind. Life is diverse and varies from individual to individual, one man's treasure is another one's tragedy. Life is conlorful, you have the chance of anyone you want to be, you have the opportunity to achieve the wildest thing you consider since human ever existed. And you may lose, failiure will put everything you have worked on in vain, but you will taste what pain, which is as much as happiness in life, is like. You may win, to let your hard work pay off, and happiness will get to you. But no one will happy forever, and no one will lose from time to time, the wiseman can always gain his or her equipoise no matter what he/she meets at anytime, we all have the chance to have our dreams come true, we all have the chance to win in this game of life. To do this, you have to have a dream in mind first.
  4. Hello Semikonductor, I think that you did awasome on the AWA section. As I just began my preparation for the test, and I will take the AWA before the other sections. Could you tell me what materials you used when preparing for the AWA section, and do you recommend me going through the words list before taking the AWA, or the AWA requires normal words? thanks
  5. Hi, elenavn, what is your AWA score? Did you work through all the topics when preparing for that section? And what materials did you use for it?
  6. Hello ursula, Thank you for your advice. I did not take the RC on the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], so that may have induced my poor performance on the actual test. But I took some practice on other prep materials, and I did well on them. But during the real test, especially when I meet the first RC at the 5th question, I was panic and found that I couldn't find the answer from the passage, which took me lots of time. BTW, how long does it take you to finish one passage with 4 questions?? Do you read the whole passage from beginning to the end, no matter how long it is?
  7. :yuck:The maths section in this month was extremely difficult, and I met lots of difficult problems in the first 20 questions, and after that section, I even felt that I must have made many errors, but the result was just the opposite,it proved that I did quite well on that section. During the Verbal section, I felt quite well, and I thought I could expect a high score on it, and the result was also the opposite as well. This is really weird. I've done the whole [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] on the logic and Sectence Correction section. But it proved that all my work doesn't work for me very well. Can anyone who did well on the Verbal section advise me what books to use to prepare for it?????????????
  8. I did all the RC section from the PP today, but hasn't found any passage was about potatoes that you mentioned, do ETS change PP on their website frequently???
  9. Many many thanks to all you guys. I'll do them both. One more question, Do you think that the real tests on the test day are kinda harder than those in [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] or PP?
  10. I will take the test in a month. And I'm confused about what materials to use. I've downloaded the PP and found that there ain't so many questions as in the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], only three sets of questions for each part of the test. For example, 3*16 for the reading part. IS THIS THE RIGHT PP YOU MENTIONED ABOUT MEETING A EXACTLY SAME ARTICAL ON THE REAL TEST?
  11. I will take the test in a month. And I'm confused about what materials to use. I read some posts in here saying that they have seen the same questions on the real test as they saw in the PP. But I've downloaded the PP and found that there ain't so many questions as in the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip], only three sets of questions for each part of the test. For example, 3*16 for the reading part. Is this the PP you guys are doing right now ? If so, any advice on how to use it ?
