  1. One more UMN rejection on Feb 13 at gradcafe? Is it real? They already sent quite many rejections on Feb 7 and Feb 10. I just checked I am still awaiting decision. Are they sending rejections one by one? And for UMN, some are rejected via email, other are rejected via website. Why does UMN treat the same decisions differently?
  2. Then why is mayflwers472, who says he/she did Yale interview, saying " got an email from Yale as well (addressed"Dear Applicant" also for an optional interview 8am-9:30am). My SO got exactly the same email, so I'm assuming they sent a form letter to multiple people. Neither of us are international. Good luck mfxuus!"?
  3. I still got no news from UMN. Anyone still waiting?
  4. I learned from last year's gradcafe that only two people posted there that Caltech has accepted them. In 2012, only one or two. Now for 2014, already three people posted. Possibly Caltech's done already. Why is this? Caltech social sciences or economics so small department?
  5. Just checked gradcafe. Caltech sent out offers? Really?
  6. Well, if they do at least some part of the process manually, then figuring out the last name alphabet of those who got accepted early wouldn't be completely insane.
  7. Minnesota 5 accepts posted at gradcafe in 2014 until now. 13 accepts posted at gradcafe in 2013, 4 waits Brown 9 acceptances posted at gradcafe in 2014 until now. 6 acceptances posted at gradcafe in 2013 Perhaps Brown is almost over? Or perhaps people just posted much in 2014 because it was so early.
  8. I still got no news from Rochester, Minnesota, Brown. No acceptance, no rejection. Hope there will be some good news next week :)
  9. I read most posts say that late lor submission doesn't matter. But places like UCLA and Princeton explicitly talk about grace period for lor submission: 1 and 2 weeks after deadline, respectively. Then what happens if the letter writers send letters even after that grace period. I think my letter writers are likely to send them late.
  10. I sent my TOEFL score report to Harvard but I am worried it might not arrive at Harvard before its deadline Dec. 2. In TOEFL website I see that Estimated Shipping Date: November 25, 2013 * but it says that "this is the date score reports are sent to the designated institution" and "Allow 7-10 days after that date for mail delivery in the United States, and more time for mail delivery to other locations" I am so concerned about this. Anyone has some idea of when it will actually arrive at Harvard?
  11. I mean, if they compare my list of courses in the online application form and the official transcript, and then they find the missing courses in the list of courses, will they consider it as "dishonest"? Can they even more seriously think that I did something quite as dishonest as cheating on an exam?
  12. So in the "year" column I put things like "2009", "2010" ?
  13. Many school's online application form includes a form to write a list of economics and math related courses, with their grades and sometimes even textbooks. There are tens of econ and math courses I got good grades. But one or two have bad grades. Should I include the courses in the list?
