  1. Any tips, guys. My exam is in a couple of days. Thanks.
  2. Are there shortcuts for solving problems such as these, where you're asked if the result is bigger or some integer n: k = 1 + 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/32 + 1/64 + 1/128 k = 1+ 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 The best I can do now is convert the fractions to decimals in my head and approximate the sum, but that strategy wouldn't work for larger fractions. Thanks.
  3. Hello everyone, I was lucky to find this forum a few days before my GRE last week. I'll be retaking the exam in early July and would appreciate your help with the following type of question, which I got on the exam and had no idea how to solve: The question was "Which of the following is bigger?" and the choices were all a combination of exponents and fractions, such as A) (100^10 + 0.02) / 10 B) (10^100 + 0.02) / 10 etc... Do you have any tips for how to solve this type of problem? Thanks guys.
