  1. You will receive your TOEFL and GRE scores in 15 days after you complete the test. If the university accepts scores online, you will manage it. If they require to receive a hard copy, you may be delayed
  2. Everyone who knows please advise me on the question how being married (officially) is connected with getting a scholarship for a Master's in Top50 universities? Does being married decrease your chances or vice versa? Thanks!

  6. "Our school cafeteria should make changes in the lunches that it serves in order to improve the health of our students. Several teachers and I have observed that students who eat these meals tend to eat the main course and the dessert, but seldom finish the vegetable portion. This pattern means that students are missing the vital nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables, which are typically rich in vitamins and minerals. Therefore, the school cafeteria should serve larger fruit and vegetable portions along with smaller main course and dessert portions. This change will be effective because, according to research conducted at the Rose Children's Hospital, children eat the same amount of food served to them — about 55 percent, on average — no matter what the main course is." The school announcement states that the cafeteria is going to change its course structure, serving less portions of the main course and desserts in favor of vegetable dishes. The explanation used to support the decision lies on the observation that students seldom finish their vegetable dishes which may lead to problems with their health due to the lack of nutritions received. The effectiveness of the change is considered to be a success by the research results done by Rose Children's Hospital, which imply that children eat the same amount of food served - about 55 percent- no matter of the course. In my opinion, the statement on which the decision is made has some severe lack of supporting information and thus cannot serve as the main reason for supporting the decision adopted. First of all, the research does not take into consideration that children are not often fond of vegetables. Most of them prefer mainly either fast food or meat. They claim that the latters are both tasty and more pleasant to eat than pure vegetables are. Second, main vegetable dishes contain less calories than an average meat product does. This means that reducing the amount of the main course and the dessert will lead to receiving a smaller amount of calories which itself can be a more severe health problem. Finally, the research suggests that children eat 55 percent of the amount served, no matter what the main course is. In this case, reducing the amount of the dessert and the main course will simply lead to an increase in the percentage of the amount of the main course and the dessert eaten. Thus, the same "ignorance" of vegetables will remain. Nevertheless, despite the problems described above, there is a way to strengthen the argument and make the change effective. In my opinion the wise decision is to change the structure of the main course. It is extremely easy to cook dishes that are enriched with increased amount of vegetables. Being cooked or mixed with the salade, vegetables still contain most of their useful nutritiouns and minerals and are more pleasant to eat by many people. This approach of adding vegetables to the main course dishes will solve the problem of health issues and on the other hand will allow the school to save some money because it will be required to buy, cook and recycle less amount of vegetable dishes which were not eaten by the students.
  7. Please rate my first essay in GRE. I need generally opinions on the following: 1. Construction 2. Ideas 3. Vocabulary Thanks!! "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student." Education plays its unique role in the overall level of competitiveness of a particular person when applying for a job. To keep up with the changing environment, many colleges are now offering a unique system of education, when the student chooses what to study on his own. Although the author of the statement implies that only individually designed education for a specific student will be top-notch effective, I partially disagree with this point of view. Of course before mentioning the contra arguments against the statement, it is necessary to confess that the statement has its strong advantages too. A specifically designed education allows a particular student to benefit by studying the subject allocated in-depth and with interest. An enforcement of anything will not be even half productive than choosing the things you want to do on your own. The latter case identifies your willingness to work hard on what you do because being fond of it. On the other hand designing specific curriculums individually for each student has its obvious disadvantages too. First of all, there should be set an obligatory list of subjects, which students have to pass in order to complete their education. After all, a medical college student who wants to major in surgery of heart cannot choose only subjects related to the construction and functioning of the latter. In his case a broad range of subjects such as general anatomy, neurology etc should be obligatory to study no matter whether the student is interested in them or not. The simple explanation to this fact is that we live in a complex world where many things are strongly connected with each other. To understand a specific thing we need a general vision and understanding of the wider picture. Second, a student cannot be fully confident what subjects he might need in his future professional career while being at the university. For example, a future IT specialist might think that taking the "Game theory" or the "Theory of probabilities" is not necessary because their areas of research will not be used in his career. Nevertheless, the truth can be opposite to our thoughts. Finally, in many cases students may judge which subject to take by the level of its complexity. While econometrics is extremely important for an economist, many students will not take it due to the significant difficulties associated with particular problems of this science. Thus, we come to the fact that the future graduate will have lack of instruments and knowledge necessary for his work. Of course, enforcing all the students to learn the same curricula is not effective either. The universities should also consider that two students of an economics department - one majoring in finance, the other in economics of labour should not take the same subjects. In this case, it is wise to define a list of obligatory courses, and allow the students to take certain subjects on their own to gain the amount of credits necessary for graduation. This approach will on the one hand allow to build a background where students have an amount of information and qualifications necessary for their future career, and on the other hand make the education interesting and unique. Taking into consideration all of the facts mentioned above I can state that although designing courses individually for a specific student will not lead directly to true effectiveness of education, it is of significant importance to keep the balance of obligatory courses and allow the students to choose some courses they like to take on their own. In my oppinion such approach will lead to a truly effective education.

    Rate my essay

I would rate your essay 22, and mot more. 1. There are some grammatic errors in all paragraphs that lower your score. Some words are not used appropriately, there are several repeats. 2. The structure of the essay is not finished. Your last paragraph, which is supposed to act as a conclusion seems rather as a CONTRA argument to your position. Although you try to make a conclusion in the last sentence, the structure is not good. I would change the place of the last paragraph to the introduction saying, then stating your main point of view "I believe that having a job is beneficial for young people"
  11. I guess it will be live until Monday :)
  12. No, no the scores are not yet out. Be sure to check them today by 19:00 EST or on Monday maybe :)
