  1. The Man, I'll probably start seriously looking into Nevada, Reno on that note. I actually spent my freshman year of college there.
  2. Hey thank you guys so much for the responses I can't tell you how helpful it is. My math background right now is only calc 1 (B) and intro stats (B), but I'm spending the next year or two as a non degree students hoping to get through the 2 and 3, diff eq, analysis and some probability. I will also be enrolling in a GRE Kaplan class and shooting for a GRE quant score around the mid 700's (I figure the class will help achieve that). One thing is that at least calc 2 and 3 will be at a community college for obvious financial reasons and the rest will be at University of Nebraska, is that going to be a problem?
  3. Hi, I just graduated from Colorado with a BA in Econ. After a disappointing undergrad GPA I need a way to prove myself as a good student and I think a MA route might be a good one to take. But as I said my GPA is around a 3.2, can anyone recommend some MA programs that are easier to get into, but not completely frowned upon. I have no problem attending a lower ranked program seeing as how I don't have much interest in ever applying to a top 50 PhD program either. Please get back to me if you can I really appreciate the help, John
  4. Hi everyone I just graduated from Colorado Boulder with a BA in econ with a sub-standard GPA (3.2) and now I would like to apply to some MA or PHD programs, but given my bad grades as an undergrad and little math background it doesn't seem feasible. What i am doing right now is strengthening my math background by taking calc1-3, differential equations, real analysis and some probability at a different school (non top tier) before applying. I am also intending to take the GRE until I get a quant. score of hopefully mid 700's. My question is am I doing the right thing to make myself a more attractive candidate, or is this all just a waste of time and money? If it is a waste what could I do that would be a better option? Its worth mentioning that I am not trying to get into a top 50 school
