  1. That is so annoying... Wish you the best of luck! :) The season is finally over for me.
  2. Institution: Columbia Business School Program: PhD Finance and Economics Decision: Rejected (from wait list) Funding: N/A Notification date: 04/19/2011 Notified through: e-mail to see website Posted on GC: no Comments: I happened to know that I was waitlisted from the rejection letter.
  3. I've got the same email. Didn't buy their argument...
  4. Institution: Washington University St. Louis (WUSTL) Program: Ph.D. Economics Decision: Rejected Funding: -- Notification date: April 13 Notified through: E-mail Posted on GC: yes Comments: finally^2
  5. Congratulations! You have very good choices! I think you could look at their recent placements to help you decide. Maybe trying to find the placements in your research interests and see who was the advisor and so on...
  6. I'm still waiting on WUSTL as well... and I have the same feeling of how disrespectful they have been without sending us any news... So annoying...
  7. Me too! Tired of waiting (and not very optimistic too about the schools that haven't sent me anything...). I will take some funded offer that I have this week.
  8. Hi alice! I don't know if this helps, because I was waitlisted at Brown as well, but I told them I didn't want to keep my name on the list...
  9. No, they haven't replied yet... :( I just wanted to know...
  10. I gave up! Today I'm writing to the schools that still haven't sent me news...
  11. Not sure yet  I guess I'll make my mind after the flyouts...
  12. Ow, I just noticed that there are 5 students who also are still in the Program but have not yet finished it from the class who started in 2005.
  13. I asked about the official numbers and here is what I got: (year - entering class size - number of students who completed PhD) 1995 - 24 - 17 1996 - 21 - 13 1997 - 22 - 13 1998 - 24 - 16 1999 - 24 - 17 2000 - 26 - 17 2001 - 17 - 11 2002 - 25 - 14 2003 - 21 - 14 2004 - 20 - 16 2005 - 29 - 12 (there are still 5 students in the Program, besides those 12 who already graduated) 2006 - 27 - 7 (there are still 10 students in the Program, besides those 7 who already graduated) Note that these stats consider the students who finish the Program, not only the first year. Now, for 2007 and after I guess these numbers will be more useful: (year - entering class size - still in program) 2007 - 24 - 16 2008 - 31 - 21 2009 - 24 - 19 I was there in the flyout too and it was really nice! The Program seems great! I guess LAecon has already covered the main topics. One thing that made me kind of worried was that some students really scared me about the prelims, using expressions like "hell" or "the worst thing in my life"... but I guess this was expected. They also mentioned that this is so because they really pressure themselves to pass in the first try, which less than half of the class did last year... Hope this helps!
  14. @blackwhite So sorry to hear about ASU :( Crossing my fingers for Davis!!
