Oh, hey, this might be an odd school to ask about, but has anyone heard from the University of Memphis in accounting?

Yeah, its wierd to ask this I guess, but I couldn't think of a better place for it. I imagine I'm not alone in the "overthinking psycho phaze", and I get caught on every detail... So I figured I'd post summarys of a few statements so that you can guess my chances. For some reason a couple days I felt really badly, but now I'm starting to think I was wrong-ish. so here we go. #1. I was given a nice early interview with the head of the department. It went pretty great (IMHO, and no way for you to know without being there...). It ended with this statement and action: I'm putting you at the top of the list for our 2011 cohort. The department head then took out my file and wrote that on a note. #2. Time passes with nothing heard. #3. I send an email asking whether my status was fully official so that I could do some paperwork at home #4. I get a response saying that the committee hadn't yet met this year due to a project going on in the department but they would get back to be soon. when I got the last mail I was annoyed since I assumed I was not safe (not official), but when I took a short time to think about it I realized that I might be in good shape since not even the head can unilaterally declare a candiate and if the committee didn't meet by defination I couldn't be official. Now, since they are busy, I'm sorta averse to repeated email requests :whistle: So while I twiddle my thumbs and suffer a slow a painful metal breakdown waiting for all my results I figured I'd ask this board a question. Nice to join the PhD admission forum... Hopefully my stay will be VERY SHORT!!! :D
