  1. Thanks a lot! My school's library actually has a copy of the Big Book in stock. Let's see how this goes (for a guy with 0 programming experience).
  2. Thanks again for the insight guys! Can you recommend a book or an online resource that's a decent intro to LaTeX? I've got some time this summer... I'll let you guys know if it turns out as an uber fail on my part.
  3. Imadeit: thanks for your suggestions! The main stats package my program uses is SAS. Admittedly, I've never heard of LaTeX... having just skimmed through the LaTeX wikipedia article, it sounds way more complicated than Word. What are the advantages of LaTeX or is it just something everyone needs to learn just because it's industry standard? Thanks!
  4. Thanks a lot for your insight shooter! Hopefully my pre-reading helps me digest the papers a little easier.
  5. Hi all, Posted a similar thread on EJMR, which yielded (unsurprisingly) 75% troll replies. Was wondering what the standard finance texts are for first year grad school - MSc/Phd? Planning on doing some pre-readings, but my program's course schedule, etc, aren't out yet. I know both Darrell Duffie and John Cochrane have separate Asset Pricing books, which I've no clue as to the quality and frequency of use across programs. Also came across Tirole's Corporate Finance book, which have rave reviews on Amazon. Thanks all!
  6. Frayed: Just wanted to say 'WOW' to your insight and willingness to share that with us! You da man!
  7. Hi FinPHD, I've sent you a PM. Thanks!
