  1. Thanks! I will look more closely at how they give exams. I have looked at LSE's year-long program and would love to do it, but it would probably be too much of a financial strain on my parents. Oh well...
  2. Hey everyone, I'm planning on spending a semester in the UK next spring, but I'm having trouble figuring out what to look for... I would like to go somewhere with a more international/development focus. Does anyone have any suggestions? Keep in mind that I'm more concerned with the quality of teaching than prestige of the school, but it does need to be worth the higher cost of living and hassle of getting credits transferred. Also, a couple of questions: - Is it difficult to get accepted as a visiting student (assuming you've met the GPA requirements, which I have)? My thinking was that since you're paying and their reputation is not at stake, it shouldn't be too hard. - Are there generally a lot of math prereqs for upper division courses? I will only have Calc I & II (and business/econ stats) done
  3. No problem :) I've had fun reading the conversation and all the links have been helpful as well.
  4. Thanks everyone! I'm definitely up for taking some calc- just trying to figure out whether it's worth giving up time I could spend on more polisci classes, which I also really love. Honestly, some of the motivation behind this post was a moment of panic where I couldn't figure out how to do a problem... turns out there was a typo in the book, and I am now confident in my ability to read a graph X) Still have some concerns, but it's good to know not all upper level math is the same
  5. I am an undergrad at a small university with little to no name recognition. My major is in economics (concentration: international) and I am interested in environmental econ and international development. Dream would be an eventual PhD in econ. Only problem? I definitely don't have enough of a math background to go straight into a grad program, and I'm terrified that when I do start getting math courses in, I won't do well enough in them. Any advice? Maybe go for public pol instead?
