Thanks to both VinGmat and friendlydragon I appreciate your replies.VinGmat, you correctly pointed out that Money will be a factor in deciding if I shud postpone, esp for Indians. I am not sure if I prepare for another 2 months, I will be able to cross 700. I will prbly give the exam and see where I am. Anyways,thx again

I postponed my GMAT from Sept 28th to Oct 5th, hoping to improve the score.I took PP and thought that there are just not sufficient no.of tests.So bought Kaplan.Here are my scores which dont seem encouraging to give even on Oct 5th. Kaplan Diagnostic-550 Kap1-520 Kap2 -500 My pp scores are in the range 600-700 Although I read lot of posts in this forum that Kaplan scores are discouraging, I have seen some cases where Kaplan score represented their Real GMAT score. I have to get 630+ inorder to get admission. Seeing my performance, does anyone think that I shud postpone my test? Suggestions on this will be appreciated Thx

I have my GMAT on 28th Sept.I have been preparing for 3 months now.On my first PP, I scored 460 and from there on I reached a score of 630-660. I work FT and am unable to plug in good time except on weekends. I completed [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] and took PP and got 710.I feel this is an artificial jump bcuz I remember most of the solutions.... I got Kaplan and started doing it but never took Kaplan tests 'cuz I read in these forums that you might score less(I am not fully confident and now by taking Kaplan I am afraid, the "less score" will be demoralising) Again, I will applying for MS programs in either Finance or Marketing.Any suggestions or tips will be greatly appreciated Thanks

Hi Malak, What is the score that you want and how much did you score? What do you think in the RC is difficult and getting your score down? When I took my TOEFl( a couple of days bk), I got 44 qns.So I allotted time(15 mts) for each passage(There were 4 passages).So I gave 3-4 mts for reading the passage and the rest to answer the qns.I completed 4 passages in an hr.I took the rest 10 mts to review all the answers. Improving your score on the RC is not very difficult- Have you taken practice tests on POWERPREP??If yes, how much did you get? The powerprep s/w which you get when you register for the TOEFL should be sufficient.Addnal tets can be taken from-Barron's,Princeton. Hope that helps!! -Priyanka

Hi, Although you take the exam twice, both the scores will be reported in your score card. I am not really sure if you can ask the University to consider the score which you want... _PY

I just finished my TOEFL- Listening-25 Struc-11-28 Reading-30 Any idea why the structure ranges from 11-28 and not 30?? Also,lets say hypothetically my essay rating is 6, the 220+6*10 will be 280 which crosses my range.Is it possible?Will any one score in such a manner? I would like to thank the website for providing with the tests and to everyone in the forum for giving good suggestions.Thanks to Erin for the sticky board:) Thanks once again! Hi Aparna, I gave my TOEFL on May 7th.Initially even I used to get scores in the range of 170's.I studied Barrons and Arco's.I went thru each and every practice test and the grammar given in the beginning of the guide. After that I started improving my scores.TestMagic forums also helped me.And yeah, there is a book on TOEFL essays incase you want to go thru, from Barrons.Hope that helps!! Good luck Priya
