  1. 13. "Many of the world's lesser-known languages are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them. The governments of countries in which these languages are spoken should act to prevent such languages from becoming extinct." I digest the Issue like this: 1. Center issue: World's lesser-known languages (*) 2. Limit of the center issue: Prevent (*) from becoming extinct 3. Claimer's opinion: The governments of countries in which (*) are spoken should act to prevent (*) from becoming extinct 4. Claimer's information to support his/her opinion Many of the (*) are being lost as fewer and fewer people speak them Possibe positions 1. Yes, The governments of countries (*) should 2. No, The governments of countries (*) should not 3. It depends on various factors Points which support (*) 1. Culture value 2. Economic value 3. Points which against (*) 1. Fund for (*) 2. Elimination process 3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The above things are what I get from trying to "crack" the issue. It likely serves as an outline for me and everybody going to write an essay. In order to develop to a complete essay it requires a strong position geting from justifying both the contrast points and reasons and examples supporting them. The position is up to you ! I, alone will be a small candle in the darkness of the ways to an insightful understanding on the issue but all of us could be "the Sun giving light to the Earth". Feel free to contribute your ideas to build up an insigful understanding on the issue !
  2. bharath, according to your examples, it seams that you consider behavior and action (take up smoking or drugs) are people attitudes, doesn't you? I do agree with you about this. My example of people in and out of office also refer to people behavior. In office, people have to behave formally, but outside they have not. I do not agree that people's attitudes is innate because if so, people attitutes seem to determined by their ADN codes or gene. And we will have nothing to do with the issue. I think you should look up the dictionary in order to understand the meanings of attitude and innate. I hope you will come up with more ideas
  3. Excellent essay ! Cooking, I believe that with this essay you will received no other scores than a 6.0 score !
  4. 12. "People's attitudes are determined more by their immediate situation or surroundings than by any internal characteristic." I digest the Issue like this: 1. Center issue: People's attitudes (*) 2. Limit of the center issue: - Immediate situation or surroundings (a) - Internal characteristic (b) 3. Claimer's opinion: (*) are determinded more by (a) than (b) Possibe positions 1. Yes, (a) > (b) 2. No, (a) 3. It depends on various factors 4. (a) = (b) Points which support (a) 1. (*) must change to adapt to (a) Example for this points: - In office, people have to give formal speech, wear formal costumes but at home they may give slangs, wear casual clothes. 2. 3. Points which support (b) 1. Everybody has his/her distinct characteristics 2. Everybody has his/her distinct backgrounds 3. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The above things are what I get from trying to "crack" the issue.
