I think the importance of vocabulary is in more than answering the direct synonym/antonym question. With clear understanding of new words, you will be able to grasp scientific articles and articles in high profile newspapers/magazines like NYTimes, The Guardian. Most importantly, you will be able to use them in the essay writing part with confidence. If you are going for Graduate studies, enrich yourself with vocabularies. It helps a lot!
