  1. If i understand correctly, you have to take and pass Naplex within 5 years of passing FPGEE. But i may be wrong. I will however recommend calling Texas State Board of Pharmacy and explaining your situation to them. They will be able to tell you what you should do better than anyone on this forum.
  2. @Ajay: I sent you a private message.
  3. Hi I am Indian female looking for a study partner to prepare for Naplex. I have Rxprep 2015 book and will be buying access to rxprep question bank soon. If you are someone who has just started or thinking of starting to prepare for the exam, please pm me. We can devise a schedule together. I am aiming to take the exam sometime by March end, let me know. Good luck
  4. I am interested, will pm you.
  5. I will be glad in joining you to prep for Naplex. Will pm you my email and we can chalk out a plan as to how to go about it. Fight on!!
  6. I prepared for 2 weeks and mostly for speaking section where I knew I may have difficulty. I bought ETS official guide and Barron's guide with 10 CDs (a must buy). While Ets guide is close to the actual toefl exam, Barron's guide is more helpful to practice listening and speaking section as practice questions in it are timed. It prepares you better for the speaking section where you need 26/30. Pl. refer to notefull.com website to obtain strategy to answer speaking and writing questions. Their template is excellent. I followed it as is. I follows their free videos. I did not practice by taking all four sections in a row as you get in actual toefl exam but solved each section separately for eg. all speaking sections then all reading sections. This helped me to see how I am doing in each section wrt time and where my weaknesses were. For reading section, I didn't read the passage before hand, but read question one and read para one to get its answer, as given in ETS book. Listening was pretty easy for me. I did not find any notefull videos for this section but it is straightforward. Familiarize your self with the types of questions. For speaking section, I prepared short answers for the topics given in Barron's guide for eg. favorite book, movie, teacher, parent, vacation place, memory from child hood. I did not try to memorize it but if you already know what you like and why, you can prepare for your answers way better in those 15 preparatory secs. I strictly followed the format for other speaking questions from notefull. Writing section, first question is explained very well in notefull, follow that. For Second question remember to write as much as 450 words. Follow notefull for that too. The exam is not difficult, strategize and you will easily pass. Good luck with your preparation. You can do it!! Be confident!
  7. I am interning at a compounding only facility. I have been looking for internship in a retail/hospital facility since May 2014. Most places respond by stating that they have a hook up with Universities - School of Pharmacy or that they accommodate students currently enrolled in an accredited school.
  8. Just curious... Did any foreign graduate have luck finding pharmacy internship - retail/hospital/compounding in Seattle, WA? if yes, please share your experience.
  9. Call Pharmacy board in Florida or email your question to them. They are pretty helpful in directing you as to what you may need.
  10. I am looking for an pharmacy intern position to earn 1000 hrs in Seattle, WA in retail or hospital pharmacy. Have an active intern license for WA. Willing to volunteer my hours and do not require sponsorship (green card holder). Does anyone know a place where internship is available for foreign graduates? It seems most places have a hook up with Univ of Washington. Any help/advice is appreciated. Thx
  11. I am in Seattle, aggressively looking for internship in retail, hospital ...applied to so many places... not one positive reply! All I get is "You have great resume but sorry the position has been filled". It has been three months now. Anyone from Seattle, WA with a success story?
  12. Many Thanks!! I looked into the link for AIDS training and completed 7 hrs of online AIDS training. Also, printed my FPGEE score report. I was wondering if you may be able to advise on whether I should begin looking for internship even before getting my intern license or should I wait until I have it in hand?
  13. I am curious....did you find any intern positions in WA? If you did, let me know if you may have any suggestions/advice will be very much appreciated. I am waiting for my FPGEC certificate and will be looking to complete 1000 intern hrs in WA.
  14. Hi I am waiting for my FPGEC certificate and in the meanwhile, filling application to apply for pharmacy internship in WA. I will be grateful if someone can answer the following questions for me: 1. How to answer for the following requirement? "6. AIDS Education and Training Attestation: Read the AIDS education and training attestation. AIDS training may include self-study, direct patient care, courses, or formal training. A minimum of seven hours is required." Do I need to take a course or a certificate for that? Any recommendation as to which course is the best? 2. Pharmacy Intern application asks for FPGEE - Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Exam - score letter. I did not receive any letter after I passed FPGEE. The result was online and unfortunately, I did not save it. I haven't yet received FPGEC certificate. Will I be receiving an FPGEE score report with it? 3. The intern application also requires "Email from NABP verifying FPGEC certificate. This is done by Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission." What am I supposed to do regarding this? Am I supposed to contact Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission to send this email to NABP? I will greatly appreciate any input with regards to the above questions. THX
  15. 1. How to apply for FPGEE, what documents needed. Please refer to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) site click on fpgee link. Required documents are listed. Follow the instructions there. 2. What are the steps should be finished to be certified pharmacist. well....get your credentials evaluated by ECE, submit your documents to nabp, after receiving approval take fpgee exam. If you clear it, you will need toefl/ibt score along with an application to obtain pharmacy intern license from the state you want to register to. Complete your internship....take Naplex and Mpje ( jurisprudence)....pass it....you are a pharmacist. 3. after that, what is preferred reading materials for preparation, Aphe guide, Mannan shroff management and CPR. 4. how long these steps may takes. if you are efficient enough....may be a year and a half!
  16. I will strongly recommend Manan shroff for management and calculation chapter from CPR in addition to APHA guide. I got approx 10-15 calculation inclusive of those from management section. Best of luck in your prep.
  17. I got 91....congrats to everyone who passed! Those who didn't you now know what to do to pass...keep fighting and good luck!
  18. I am not aware if that is the case. What I know is that the exam is percentile based and you need to get an overall score of 75 or above to pass it.
  19. Well, I did not mean to say stick to APHA guide, it is a good start. CPR is more comprehensive and additionally, you may require other books for pharmacoeconomics (say Mannan), basic biostatistics.
  20. For me, it was the other way round! I think I did well in part 1 however part 2 was hard for me.
  21. I prepared using APHA guide and CPR chapters 1-17 which really helped although I do regret not covering Mannan, I fell a little short on pharmacoeconomics which is not adequately covered in the other two books I referred. There are a lot of informative utube videos that helped understand difficult or long forgotten concepts. I can tell you more if I pass. Now, whether I pass or not, I want to thank a lot of people and postings on this forum that gave me a feeling that I wasn't alone. One thing though - do study not just to pass the exam but to really understand what pharmacy practice in US is about. That will reduce a lot of anxiety. Knowledge doesn't go waste! Study hard!! Best me
  22. Hi Sep2013 takers It was a great experience preparing and then taking an exam that I had been postponing for a while now. All that collecting study material, making notes....sacrificing going out and, watching TV...sleepless nights I am not sure how it will turn out! I am surprised that even though the exam is computerized they make us wait another 8 weeks to get to know the results. One thing I feel relaxed....I hope the upcoming results resonate with this feeling! Cheers
