Hi guys,
I just found this forum and was hoping you can give me some advice in my situation. I'm considering applying for MS in Statistics but I'm a little worried about my math background. I was a biology major in college and took Calc 1,2,3 and got all Bs, plus the math classes for bio majors were probably not as much in depth as for math majors. I also took 2 intro business stat. classes and aced them both, but they were not math intense at all. I'm interested in statistics, especially its applications in research and that's why I decided to apply.
My GR scores are Q-650, V-620.
What do you guys think are my chances of getting into a decent program (I'm not talking about top schools) and more importantly succeeding in it? Do you absolutely have to be a math major to master statistics? I don't "suck" at math but not a math genius either. Some people I asked said all you need is basic calculus, others said it goes way in depth in term of math, which makes me a bit worried.
Thanks so much in advance for your input!
