Hi everyone! I plan on applying to a few finance PhD programs and accounting PhD program with the latter being my primary choice. I have a great amount of math and stats behind me and currently considering improving my profile by adding C++ and FORTRAN. Albeit, adding these two courses into my schedule would be quite bothersome. So as the title states, "How important is C++ and FORTRAN to an Accy PhD program and a Finance PhD program?" My opinion towards most Accounting PhD programs is that the two computer languages are not really necessary, but would be quite useful in most finance PhD programs... Thanks!
