  1. If x - 2y = -1 and 3x - 4y = 3 what is the point between these two lines? A. (1, 0) B. (0, -1) C. (0, 0) D. (2, -1) E. (2, 1)
  2. got the concept.now i understood. That is when you are drawing r horizontal lines and (r+1) vertical lines. But, in this case, we are given that the squares are placed in r rows and (r+1) columns. So, it will be r(r+1) squares.
  3. i am totally confused ...my previous knowledge tells me that 11 rows and 12 columns will have a total of (11-1)*(12-1) squares i.e 110 .but ur answer is absolutely correct megamind.i cant bridge the answer to the solution i did.
  4. (90/100)* (83.3/100) *total candy = 9 =(9/10)*(833/1000)*total candy=9 9 gets cancelled on both sides (833/10000)*total candy=1 total candy=(10000/833) =12.3 (you can assume total candy as 'x' here )
  5. i think 11 rows and 12 columns will have a total of (11-1)*(12-1) squares i.e 110
  6. i thought u people knew that !!!!! check ur software ,if u dont find ....aything new(exam) , i will save it for u n post that in this forum ,,,,,it consits of 1 ,20 question exam in extra thats it!!!
  7. ya,,u are right.the software is weird. at first i did't understand........then i tried 2 click many times .....the same software ...at --take new test button,,n was surprised 2 find that the test which appeared was differet from the one i took before.. (the same is with the powerprep 3.1 version) u can hardly understand the software
  8. Julie gives 16.7% of her candy to John ,that means she has = (100-16.7)% = (83.3/100) of the candy ,remaining then Julie gives 10% of her remaining candy to Sally, that means the candy remaining with her is (100-10)% of (83.3/100)of candy=(90/100)* (83.3/100) *total candy = 9 -->(10000/833) =12.3 since candy is not measured as fraction, remove the decimal part and the answer is 12 note: here "Sally gives Peter 30% of her candy" is irrelevant information to consider so leave that
  9. rs.aggrawal is truly a wonderful book.it can give u a very good start. coz the problems in it are cogently explained but at the end of the day , its all about practising as many problems u can from standadized gre books in the market .do solve the powerprep prob. by downloading it from ets website. even official guide is good
  10. these questions made me think for a few minutes. any idea on these problems, members here u go!!
  11. oops,,,,,,PS above means point :)
  12. @megamind go through this doc....it contains the same question u asked a day before in the forum.i thought that the question u posted is a right angled triangle as u came up with that conclusion ...............today i saw the same question and i realized that the question is not about any right angled triagle ,,,,,but it says ,,,,,some point s which is not on the line ,,,,,which means that it is not in straight line with PQR where PQ=QR=SQ,,,,, since the comparision is btw PR and PS ,,,,,,,,,,IMAGINE TO EXTEND PS IN SPACE MAITAINING QS LENGTH SAME ................AND IT WLL BE ALWAYS SMALL THAN PR so aswer is a
  13. they have told in the problem, must have at least one -2........that means that -2 is compulsory for which number given below............( u can take for the context i question) ,for any number below -30 u need compulsorily a -2 . so it is -26 ad answer is the second option.
  14. sorry ..guys it was a mistake ..i unintentionally sent another doc, and this is the correct one. the answer i gave for the 1st one in this thread correlates this doc.....so please refer
  15. 1.since mean when x=20 is 20.so standard dev. is the least .
