  1. Obviously, I completely bombed the quantitative reasoning section (56th percentile...yikes). I feel like such an idiot because I didn't study for the GRE at all -- never did any practice questions, no timed practice tests, nothing. I figured that I was pretty well prepared for the math, considering that I aced the engineering calculus series in college, and was even asked to be a calculus tutor. Well, I was wrong -- I had absolutely no feel for the pace of the exam, and the math section was the first one that they threw at me (after the writing), and so I took my sweet time on the first questions, and then when I was almost halfway through, saw that I only had a few minutes left. I totally panicked and started randomly guessing, and didn't even have time to answer the last few :( . I feel like I could've done so much better if I would have practiced and gotten a feel for the test. So, my question is, do you think that I should retake? What if for some reason my other scores drop? Do you think that, since my other scores are relatively higher (93rd and 84th percentile) that I could explain my performance on the quant section, especially considering that I have a strong background in math??? I've already registered for another exam in 5 weeks, but I'm agonizing over whether or not I should take it. I am a single mom to a five-year-old (who will be starting kindergarten next week) and I'm in summer school now, so I'm VERY busy -- adding GRE studytime would make my life a lot more stressful. Do you think that it's worth it?? Please help!!
