I am planning to apply to a Phd in Finance for 2012. I have an undergraduate degree in Finance from a top ten school, 2 years of work experience as an investment analyst, and I am currently completing a Masters of Finance from a top 40 program. My GMAT is 730 Q49 V40. My biggest weakness is my undergraduate GPA which is 3.17. During my undergraduate I wasn't very focused and changed my major many times (lots of dropped classes) before deciding on Finance. During my masters degree my GPA so far is 3.92. The past year, while doing my masters, I also took Calculus 3 (A), Linear Algebra (A), Optimization Models (A) (masters level class), Ordinary Differential Equations (A), and a phd level class in time series (A-) as well as a a phd class from the finance department (A). I plan on taking Real Analysis 1 and probability theory next semester.
I am aware that my credentials are most likely not reasonable for top 20 schools. I wanted to know what are some programs where I would be a good candidate. I am thinking about the following, please let me know if these are reasonable, or if there are others that would suit my profile better.
Indiana University, Arizona State University, Boston University, Purdue, University of Maryland, University of Washington, Virginia Tech, George Washington University,
Thank you to everybody for your time.
