regarding the fpgee april 2012, i found the second part more difficult compared to the first part.
Start preparing for the exam atleast three months before.
first study the blue print carefully..next, study from Apha.
i would recommend the next fpgee takers to study from Apha, firstly because it follows the blue print, and second it gives a brief and clear idea abt the topic.
...
for part one, try to focus on drug side effects, metabolism of drugs(inducers, inhibitors), phase 1 n 2 metabolism..focus on simple calculations of kinetics such as half life and clearance(dont neglect interpretation of graphs).
for part two, its more practical and general..focus on statistics(knw meaning of chi square, t-tests etc), learn abt drug info resources..evythng tht is actually happening in practice..get the concepts of managed care as well as acts such as OBRA and OSHA(laws-u will find it in Apha)
other useful sources are Manon shroff management and Cpr..APha alone is not enough
try focusing on the fpgee blue print as much as you can.
lastly, i would strongly recomend to take the pre-fpgee once(like a month before the exam)..this will give an idea as to hw the actual exam will be and show u whr u stand, enabling u to focus more on ur weakness.
time is more than enough for the exam.
arrive at the test center early(be familiar with it if possible).
This is my experience..
Good Luck
