  1. I really did not get if first year is just no funding but tuition waiver or if it is the worst scenario (no funding + no tuition waiver). any clue?
  2. guys what about BROWN and CORNELL? any clue?
  3. thank you guys for all your answers. I really appreciate that. My research interests are mostly: Political Economics, Macro, labor. i got admissions at UBC and BU
  4. Hey guys, i need some suggestions about what to do. Here is briefly explained my situation. I am graduating from a top uni in my country in economics. I have top scores in all all quantitative courses. I had a research experience (although not very instructive). The problem basically is my GRE. i got a low score (750). Reading the forum, i thought it was not such a big deal in the sense that mainly gre is critical for those students coming from unknown uni (i.e. whose quality maybe unknown). I thought this does not apply to my case (or at least just marginally). Instead, i have unfortunatly realized that indeed it matters a lot. I got rejections from all top schools and they came very early, like they did not even look at my file. Luckily I got two admissions from very good uni (other results still pending). However, i feel like i was close to get top schools and the only thing missing was a stellar gre. Now I am wondering if it is worth, waiting one year and reappling next year with a (hopefully) better gre score and more experience in research. Sorry to bother you with such a question. thanks
  5. Congrat to art! We are on the same boot. Unfunded admission is even worse than rejection!

  7. Thank you very much guys. Now I really need to hear from the uni about the funding
  8. I believe the goodness of program is due to the fact that there is a small set of phd candidates and the faculty is composed of some top professors some fields (Battigalli, Marinacci, La Ferrara, Tabellini etc.). Moreover, in theses last years Bocconi has attracted a lot of funding thanks to its research' results and it is investing to improve the faculty. Therefore, phd students can really work together with these professors and benefit from their experiences.
  9. What a sad day.... with the rejection of UCSD I have to give up living in California :(
  10. Thank you. Is there anyone who can help me? thank you
  11. Hello, I am writing to ask some information about UBC Economics PhD programm and in general about living in Vancouver. My research interests are mainly political economics, labor, and macro. How do you evaluate the department? If anyone is attending the programm or have some information that wants to share with me, I would appreciate it a lot. Many thanks
