    F! Pakistanis

Came across this interesting fact online http://www.usembassy-china.org.cn/visa/#map "Worldwide, more than 200 alumni of U.S. exchange programs have become heads of state or government, including many names that will be familiar to you: Anwar Sadat, Egypt Indira Gandhi, India Hamid Karzai, Afghanistan Tony Blair, UK Kim Dae-Jung, South Korea Oscar Arias Sanchez, Costa Rica Ricardo Lagos, Chile Mikhail Saakashvili, Georgia ?and most of his cabinet I'd like to add Zulfiqar and Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan to the list.....

    F! Pakistanis

This question is to the Pakistani students who have applied for F1 visas. Since all of us are required to go through "security clearances" from Washington by default, I was wondering how things are going for everybody? I had my interview last month, which went very well. I was told that the visa has been approved but that it needs further administrative processing (security clearances I guess). Funny, the form I was given didnt say "221g". Anyways, how is it going for others? Any idea of the timeframe for these clearances?

    US visa queries...

It is illegal, not to mention highly unethical, to acquire multiple I-20s.
  4. It is illegal, not to say highly unethical, to get two I-20s....
  5. Hi, I know JHU is pretty highly ranked in medicine. But what about its biological sciences programs (molecular biology etc) compared to Harvard and MIT?

    What is OG?

Several posts mention using [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] for Maths prep...what is this OG? thanks
  7. You can download it for free from http://www.gre.org/pracmats.html#subtest and make a printout OR when you register for the test, ETS will send you a copy anyways. GL
  8. Sudha- the trick to GRE subject test is focused preparation. These books, other than a reference source, are completely useless for this test. You will only end up overwhelming yourself. I repeat, the key to SAT, GRE, GMAT tests is "focused" study. Use the above books for reference purposes only- I can assure you will not be able to finish a sizeable portion of the syllabus using these books which will only serve to frustrate you. Here are the books I recommend. 1. ETS Practice Book (Most Important) 2. Kaplan Biology Book (covers the molecular biology portion) 3. Kaplan USMLE Biochemistry (covers biochemistry and portion of genetics) 4. Schaum's Genetics Outline (covers the genetics portion) 5. Schaum's Molecular and Cell Biology (for MCB revision) Use the ETS book to see if there is anything missing in these books- and you can use the reference books to cover for it. Having said that, GREs (both subject and general) remain a minor portion of your admission picture. No good college will admit you solely on the basis of these. Good luck
