OH sorry , marks mean grades , regarding the oncology , I had only 2 qs , one is brand _generic ( I answered it wrongley ) and the other one was about storage of the drug . but I know that oncology qs will be always on names , side effects , storage , dosage calc. that is based on BSA . classifications . RxPrep is very good reference. You have to focus on the bolded drugs and the underlined phrases . but regarding calc. stat , and compounding, Rxprep 2011 book it's not enough so you have to use another resources

First of all It's the god welling for me to pass Naplex . What is Naplex ? Beside the info. in the NABP website , Naplex will measure yr knoweldge to practice pharmacy in the AMERICAN PHARMACY . and when I say PHARMACY it could be Community, Hospital , Compounding .. so for sure you have to know : 1- Brand _ Generic , at least for the top 200 drugs . 2-Calculations : this part is very very very important , and if you didn't prepare good for it you will fail . very important inforamtion : Min. 25 qs will be on the calc. ........35 marks . Min 10 qs will be on the CVS............10 marks . Min.10 qs will be on the Anti biotics....10 marks. Min. 5 qs will be on Asthma ................. 5 marks . You have to practice qs. as much as you can because defentley you will have at least 10 qs the same idea . The total will be at least 70 marks . the rest will be very random like DM. statstics, CNS, drug interactions . Why I didn't pass the first time : 1- I did't study calculations real study . 2-I didn't study infectious diseases real study . 3- I didn't practice qs very much . 4- I didn't pay attention to the Napelx blueprint at all . 5- I took the pre-naplex twice , and I didn't pass on both tests . What I did to pass the second time : I study calculations from different sources , and I study the CVS alot and the infectious diseases , I didn't do anything but studying , took the pre-naplex and pass it . I study the top 200 drugs very well . I studied stat. In general I was more serious about my study .

I pass Naplex . it was my second attempt . but this time I made it :)

well i gradute from jordan in 2010 . B pharmacy . 5 years . and my naplex is very soon . you need to check the NABP to get all the info you needed . I knew indian girle who has B pharmacy . 4 years . she went to college here ( us ) for three years to be able to take the naplex, cause the board don't accept 4 years pharmacy . so check with the NABP. good luck.

well my source is rxprep . look in stat. in addition to the one we already know . we have to focus on the ones i mentioned . RRR , Pvalue and etc... Dana ":-)

I don't know why you put your self in such situation , listen we need them ( the precepters) , and since we are forigners , the task will be more difficult . my strategy with the pharmcist I work with is to make them feel that they know more than me . and to feel that they have better knowledgeit doesn't mean that it's the truth , but that helped alot , they are very nice with me , and i feel that they want to learn me every thing new , we need them now , but when when we reach what we want , it will be different story . for us the forigner interns , we have to admit that there is alot of things we don't know about the american pharmacy system , i don't mean pharmacology or clincal aspects , but the system as it is . Just have pateince . ,

sunday: 04/01/2012 ............... Success doesn't come to you?you go to it study plan : 1- calculations . (lectures and chapter ) 2-componding req. and terminology . 3- pharmacokinetics and drug formulation . if I had time i will study more three chapters . they are very small ones (drug ref. , drug development process, pharmacogenomics ) and of course practice qs. calc. cases.

Oncology is very important chapter , i know it's very challenging but you will relize that it's not that hard . you have to know the families ,ddti . main side effects , moa , naplex wants to make sure at least we know the basics . any way i didn't review it again , after am done , inshallah i'll put my notes .

Today 03/29/2012 my plan is to study : 1- finish stat. 2- anti coagulation 3- constipation and dirrhea . 4- wt.loss. some calculations . some cases and practicing qs. My exam is on may the first . 8 am

now am studing stat. it's very very important . focus on RRR ARR. Pvalue . Cause 100% it will show on the exam . and remember this exam is very random . it means that 150 qs . each question of them will be different . so try to study on every thing . for the the stat. as i said , know what RRR ARR P value , how to calc. them and how to understand them . also know null hypothesis , alternative hypothesis . they are all related to each other . so focus on them . you will see them in the naplex for sure also focus on the type of studies . cohort , random , case based .. etc etc . this exam want to make sure that atleast you have the basics on all the aspects of the pharmacy .

Did you know that PPi can cause bone fractures , and estrogen can lead to GERD. ?? I did'nt Antacids= WORK IMMEDIATLY but shorter action , take it less than 2 times/ week _ Tums comes in chewable form, I think T ums is CaCo3 , we have to know the diff et citrat and carbonate . , Maalox and Mylanta both comb drug of Al and Mg and they are stool softner . Maalox Max , mylanta Max = Al +Mg+semithicon ( anti gas ) . Maalox Total releife = Al + Mg + bismuth asa . Pepcid complete = MgOh+CaCO3+famotidine . we don't recommened Alka seltzer and gaviscon we should chew it b4 swollow it . Pt. who are diabtics don't take chewable form , Pt with Htn don't take alka seltzer . some drugs need acidic media to be absorbed like CaCO3 , Iron , some antifungals , so Becareful , _ Al , Mg , like other elements like Li , they are 10000% excreted thru kidney , so DO NOT BE TAKEN BY KIDNEY FAILURES .
