  1. I have never thought of deferring an offer before. Do u think they will allow? Anw, why do you think that UPenn is going to be better than Cambirdge? Is this included DPhil of Cambridge as well?
  2. Thanks for sharing information. Yes, it is quite strange that there is virtually no email at all but we have log into the tracker every single morning to read the same message... That is a bit too boring for me. Since you applied a bit sooner that me, if u are noticed by the university, could you please kindly inform me here or via PM? I thank you very much in advance.
  3. Oh.. So long then. Have u applied for MPhil as well? So... It has been 4-5 weeks already! Gosh... I applied at the end of January and had not checked the status again since last weekend that I found out my status has been changed to the current one. I therefore don't know when it was changed and how long should I expect from now... Sigh... Anw, I wish u the best and get the offer ASAP :-)
  4. Thanks all for the responses. All comments seem to support the Cambridge choice... I think if there is no mistake, I will choose accordingly. To the best of my knowledge, I have understood that only few students passed the requirement of Cambridge to pursue DPhil. However, you posted the totally different information and that relieved me a lot! Are you studying at Cambridge now or went to Cambridge? My status is currently awaiting a decision from the BOGs and the application is satisfied by the degree committee already. How certain I will receive an offer?
  5. Dear all, I would like to consult regarding these two choices. Although being in PhD seems to be a good choice, I have a bit of concern about the attrition rate of UPenn. In my whole opinion, both choices have different pros and cons. UPenn PhD: it is a top school unarguably. However, my concern is in the attrition rate which is quite high. Cambridge MPhil: it is a worldwide brand. However, it is MPhil which I have to pass 70 percents to get an offer for the DPhil program. Personally, I prefer Cambridge but I have no idea whether 70 percents criteria or Upenn high attrition rate is more risky. Note that, my background is not in Economics and not in math-intensive fields, even though I could learn math pretty well. That is why I choose to apply for Master degree in the UK. What is your take or suggestion? Thanks in advance, best,
