Good to know. Obviously I wouldn't intentionally mislead adcoms, but apps are due so early that I'm bound to change my mind on a few things after submitting them.

Hi all, So I'm already starting to think about my SOP for the 2012-2013 admissions cycle. I currently have a topic planned for my thesis and want to mention it in my SOP. However, what if my topic ultimately changes, or for some reason, the whole thing falls through and I don't complete my thesis? Will I be held to these things by adcoms or could my admissions be revoked because of it? Obvs. I don't intend for these things to happen, and no one can predict what's going to happen in the future. However, I've seen similar things happen to classmates (changing topic or not completing), so I'm concerned about potential consequences for grad school admissions.

Ok. What about afterwards? Is it safe to give my opinions on flyouts (assuming that I receive any), programs, and the like? Will departments take it personally? Two years into a program, will someone look up my urch profile and expose my information to the world?
