I did write to the grad director to ask, the answer is "As far as the university paying for your plane ticket here, we are looking into it and will get back if possible." It seems that I have to work hard this summer instead of having a rest before school. Thank you all.

Hi all, I've recieved just a great news: in at Rutgers!!!!!. They misplaced my file and have just found, unbelievable. Rutgers is my first choice. I applied to 4 uni-s: OSU-in UIUC-in Rutgers-in Emory-out, not know why. My major is discrete maths, graph theory(combinatorics). Profile: gre 800/320!!!, subject 800/90%, toefl 230!!! GPA 3.9 - msci at ELTE: Eotvos Lorand university - Hungary.

Thanks for the information u ve provided. Emory does not have high ranking but receiving such a fellowship is well far out of my ability. Congratulate u again!!!:tup: . I am finding a place to play combinatorics there. Working with prof. V.Rodl is one of the best choice that a comb. graduate student can find.

Hi all, Give me some advices!, I m feeling terribly dissaponited. I did it yesterday with such a poor score: V 310, Q 800. I knew before the test that my verbal score cann't be higher than 400, but 310 is really a nightmare. Additionally, my Toefl score is also low: 227, 4. How do you guys think about my scores?, may be the best joke you ve heard. My English will prevent me from Phd-dream in USA. Previously I wished to study Mathematics in some not bad schools, but how do they allow me with such a scores that a novice also knows to attain?, god!. My GPA is pretty good, also can I retake the exam in December, yet I do not think it will be better, one month is not enough for a score like 500. I am giving up. Thanks to all my peers.

Neighbors are the people who live near us. In your opinion, what are the qualitys of a good neighbor? Use specific detalis and examples in your answer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our main goal in life is to live the best way we wish. Beside a good job, a beloved family, we also like to have good neighbors who live around us, and they may act an indespensable role to our family. Then who are considered good neighbors?, In my opinion, a good neighbor is friendly, helpful, considerable and sympathy. As an our old saying tells:"far living relations are not so important than near neighbors", this is mainly because they are whom we meet day by day, they are our friends that often talk with us about their work, their difficulties as well as their happinesses. Everyday sayings that we may get from a friendly neighbor like "good morning!, how did you sleep last night?", or "how are you today?", "you seem to have a hard-working day, let's have a glass of beer"...help us much. On the other hand, a good neighbors are always willing to help others. For instance they are whom we can count on taking care of the house if our family make a long trip, or from whom we may borrow a hammer, a guitar...I can not imagine that without these basic things whether neighbors are considered good. Moreover, sympathy and consideration are the qualities that a neighbor need to have, more importantly, in today' s life. To be consiberable is to do things that do not disturb the neighbors, like not listen loud music later nights. Sympathy makes the community life much easier, thus creates a nice relations among neighbors. In short, we can not live without neighbors. And friendliness, helpfulness, consideration and sympathy are so important qualities that every neighbor need to have in hand to make life happy.
