  1. Does anyone know if the NSF grants funding for PhD candidates in business schools? The NSF eligibility guidelines state that proposals in Management/Business Administration are not eligible for funding, but if my research proposal falls under organizational behavior and economics (within a Management PhD program), would I be eligible? Thanks! The following areas are eligible: Psychology - Industrial/Organizational Social Sciences - Economics (except Business Administration) And the following are not eligible: Practice-oriented, professional degree programs (MBA, MSW, MPH, ED, etc.) Joint science-professional programs (MD/PhD, JD/PhD, etc.) Business administration or management
  2. I'm trying to decide whether I should apply to Strategy or Organizational Behavior programs and where my education background fits in. Anyone willing to weigh in on the following questions? 1 - Is a psychology background necessary for micro OB programs? 2 - How much math coursework is generally expected of Strategy program applicants? For context, I'm aiming for a Top-20 program. I'm concerned about my lack of psychology coursework for an OB program, but on the other hand, my lack of advanced math courses for a strategy program. A few details about my profile: BA in Economics from a top liberal arts college (US) Major GPA: 3.9/4.0 (3.6 overall) GRE: 800 Q / 690 V / 6.0 analytical Economics coursework: Lots, mostly in applied microeconomics (A/A-) Math coursework: Multivariable Calculus (A), Differential Equations (A-), Linear Algebra (B) Senior honors thesis incorporating econometrics, relying on some social psychology theory No formal coursework in psychology, sociology 3 years work experience (economic consulting; policy research) Thanks!
