  1. GMAT168, Thank you for the clarification.I was refering to the logic of the GMAT Critical Reasoning Questions. In many of the TESTMAGIC postings,we discuss about specific questions. This is a good thing. But I believe that there is a logic in these questions that we can be familar. This will be helpful in addition to having a good understanding of question structure.I am refering to assumption,strengthen/weaken, and inference as question structure. Would you happen to have a list of the logic that one can be familiar? Please advice.Rgds, Anna
  2. Wenura, Thank you.I think that I have been posting my question under that section.I will double check again. To move ahead, how do you practice for CR?Do you go through the [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] 10th Edition?Or do you practice questions from other books?Rgds, Anna
  3. GmatCalif, Thank you for your response.I liked the following tip that you had given: Some answers have this pattern, with two choices that logically say the same thing. I've learned to rule them both out and pick the third, which also seems right, and so far its worked. While this might work for some questions, there might be some really tough ones that might break this pattern? +++++ I will keep a look out for such questions and post them.Rgds, Anna
  4. Folks, This is the only post that I found pertaining to understanding the logic of questions.Any thoughts on what should be the right answer? And why?Rgds, Anna
  5. Folks, This is more of an educational question.I have attempted half of OG's Critical Reasoning Questions.Looking at the questions I see a pattern among them.Unfortunately,I was not able to ascertain this logic.Have anyone attempted to find this?If so,can you share with us your analysis. I am sure if we have a clear idea over the logic,we should be on the road to success for Critical Reasoning.Tx. Anna
  6. Folks, Need your thoughts on the following 2 [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] questions on C.R: a)OG 107: The number of patents granted to inventors by United States Patent Office dropped from 56,000 in 1971 to 45,000 in 1978. Spending on research and development, which peaked at 3 percent of the GNP in 1964, was only 2.2 percent in 1978. During this period, when the United States Percentage was steadily decreasing, West Germany and Japan increased the percentage of their GNP's spent on research and development to 3.2 percent and 1.6 percent, respectively. Which of the following conclusions is best supported by the information above? a) There is a direct relationship b/w size of nation's GNP and the number of inventions it produces. b) Japan and West Germany spent more money on research and development in 1978 than did the United States. c) The amount of money a nation spends on research and development is directly related to the number of inventions patented in that nation. d) Between 1964 and 1978 the United States consistently spent a larger percentage of its GNP on research and development than did Japan. e) Both West Germany and Japan will soon surpass the United States in the number of patents granted to inventors. +++ The answer on the book is (d). I did not think that this was the right answer as we do not know how U.S. spent its remaining % of GNP over those years. In my opinion this could have been right if it had been worded: Between 1964 and 1978 the United States consistently increased its GNP allocation for research and development than Japan. ++++ I was not too comfortable with other answers either. How would you have handled this question?
  7. Hi vsrc100, I may not be getting your point: n = 900/1 + c2^t Am I missing something? Anna
  8. Folks, I am new to this alias but it looks like home with the amount of help that folks render. One of my key weakness in Quan is Inequality.I have read many of "vsreddy" and "ursula"'s posting and know that there should be a way to handle such problems.(Unlike my present style of guessing and just "choosing" numbers) Is there a technique that you adopt to solve such problems? How do you handle multiple inequality vs single inequality? What sample questions on [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] 10th edition would you recommend to master this?It will be great if "vsreddy" and "ursula"' can add your thoughts on this.Tx. Anna
