Hey everyone,
I'm facing the decision of attending either Oxford for Mphil or a fully funded PhD at Minnesota. I've applied and was rejected by other Top 10 US schools.
Some background about myself:
-mathematics at a Canadian university
-very minimum economics coursework - could this be the reason I wasn't able to get in a higher ranked US PhD?
-research experience in math
-research interest: development economics
So, here are my questions:
1. would the mphil add value to my current profile and boost my chances at Top 10 a year later?
2. anyone has information on the placement of mphil candidates?
3. which school should I choose money issues aside?
Advice/thoughts are much appreciated!
