Why do you want to do it? Why you want to do it? I don't know the difference between them.

"Ninety per cent of people in Paris are exposed daily to levels of nitrogen oxides, the worst local pollutants, which are higher than the limits set by the European Union," deputy mayor Christophe Najdovski told me. "This is a serious public health issue. That's what lies behind the very strong action we are taking against the causes of pollution, and in Paris, the main cause is road traffic." The authorities reject the idea of introducing a London-style congestion charge zone, where motorists are charged for driving in the city centre. "We see this as a form of social discrimination, where those who can afford to pay can continue to use cars," says Najdovski. Instead, the city's authorities have introduced a low-emission zone, banning lorries on weekdays. I think the above is not correct. The word 'where' must point for a physical location. Here it is for 'social discrimination'. I think it should be 'which' here. I am not sure.

I would be extremely grateful to/for you if you help me to ... I want to know whether to write to or for in the above. What is the rule to use to and for?
-
Thank you Bazza I thought when you write the verb 'told' , it would be wrong to write verb 'is'. You think it is all right to write 'is' or 'was'. He told me yesterday and I am telling it to you today. I think I must use the verb 'was' in this case. You could help me again.

A single comment from Mr Orban's spokesman, Peter Szijjarto, that the allegations were "ridiculous", was not followed up by the party as a whole. When a committee of the Budapest Semmelweis University issued its 1,157-page report last week, Fidesz simply declared the matter "closed", while the Christian Democrats (KDNP), their junior partner in government, issued a much more strident attack on the president's critics, our correspondent says. Prime Minister Orban would only say last Friday that the president should make up his own mind. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The last sentence is incorrect, I have believed. To write the words 'last Friday' without commas is incorrect. Prime Minister Orban would only say ,last Friday, that the president should make up his own mind. Last Friday, Prime Minister Orban would only say that the president should make up his own mind. Both of the above sentences are fine. I have learnt to write similar to the above 2 sentences I believe the original sentence is correct? I want to learn your opinion.

Thank you You don't eat olive oil. You can drink it. Generally people mix it with food. Eat olive oil with their bread ... I can't believe the above.
-
Officials defended the ban as a protection for consumers who would know that they were getting a safe, guaranteed product with proper labelling of its origin and with tamper-proof, hygienic dispensers. "This is to guarantee the quality and authenticity of the olive oil put at the disposal of consumers. The aim is to better inform and protect consumer. We also expect hygiene to be improved too," said an official. The idea that restaurant customers, who want to eat olive oil with their bread or to dress their food, could not distinguish between a fake product and the real thing was dismissed as patronising by Mr Clark. I don't know the meaning of patronising in the last sentence? Patronize means support. I can't understand the meaning in the last sentence

A massive explosion at a government-owned steel plant in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has killed at least 11 people, police say. The blast on Wednesday night triggered a fire in the plant in the coastal city of Visakhapatnam. At least 16 other workers suffered serious burn injuries. The blast took place when workers were checking a newly-installed oxygen unit in the plant, reports said. The death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are critical. "We found people with 75% burns who were rushed to the hospital," news agency AFP quoted a spokesman for the plant as saying. A report can't speak. So it is incorrect to write 'reports said'. It should be report indicates. Can you help me?

He has been looking for work ever since he came out of prison for drink and drug-related offences, and is struggling to support his wife and child. Why is it necessary to have the comma in the above?

The English word sentiment is a noun. Sometimes it is countable. Sometimes it is uncountable. Could you please help me how to write it correct? The dictionaries say it is both countable and uncountable. I am no good to find it.

Buses are often overcrowded in Bangladesh and accidents on poorly-maintained mountain roads are common. Twelve passengers who were seriously injured are being treated in hospital, police officer Nara Bahadur Air told the AFP news agency. In July, more than 40 people, most of them pilgrims, were killed in two deadly bus crashes in as many days. I can't understand the last sentence.
