If you have no response for a question, put "n.a." or "not applicable." - do not draw a line or write "none" or "nil." in embassy website it is written-Respond to all the questions. @applicant4ece i dont want to fight with u, no interest to know ur experience. i m seeing my frnds, i have seen many others in working grounds. i have seen one of my btech classmates making cheap herself to attract the attention of boys, and profs. the outcome was not good. and her condn went to such a level, that she had to cry sitting in her room. its u who ll have to carry ur dignity. u may have to face some fights for that, but i still believe, and shall always believe, girls possess that strength of mind to win the race and can gain respect and dignity in workfield. to understand this, i have no need to visit all the research institutes, i can say it seeing the experiences of my frnds frm different institutes allover india thrgh internet and phone.

@applicant4ece i can understand ur point. i have also heard this thing. but it is mostly seen in private organisations. i think, in research field, at least in reputed institutions, this picture doesnt come into picture. so far i know, earlier there was quota system in US also for black americans(long back) but now its not there after a huge protest frm whites.

wht i can say is, its u who ll have to prove urself. being an engg student, whr in my btech class, there were only 15% girls in class, and in mtech, 2% girls in class, still profs always gave importance on hard work and intelligence,not on gender.In class, I never faced any difficulty in presenting my views and those were accepted by guys also, without any trouble. i expect the same thing in US also. ur score , GPA, and ur confidence in wht ever u r saying and doing will matter, and nothing else.
