I read in a couple of threads about the "connections" that a professor who writes you a recommendation has. Is it just there is a larger chance the admission committee will know him or something else?

How exactly? I am worried about the same thing. Should I just hope that the professor would be honest with me?

Hi everyone. I've been doing RA work for a famous professor for one semester, but I wasn't able to take his course due to some reasons.
