2) junior prof in metrics/IO (research assistant for a year)
Research Experience: RA for a year with prof 2 in the above - involving lots of MATLAB, Stata codes
Teaching Experience: math TA 1 yr (calculus, linear algebra), econ TA 1 yr (intro micro)
Research Interests: pretty much everything - except for monetary macro. maybe something not theoretical.
I am pending on applying this year (for 2014 entry) or for 2015. For the next year (my last year in undergrad), I'm planning on taking graduate metrics sequence and writing a senior thesis (and maybe take some more econ field courses e.g. trade/monetary/IO and higher level math courses e.g. topology). I think these additional stuff would make my profile more competitive for 2015... a problem would be finding something to do during the gap year (maybe a year-long RAship, if any?)
so... apply now or next year?
