I was enrolled in Bentley college (MA) for MBA, this Fall 2005. I have got a 50% scholarship and yet got refused twice. Probably because my brother is in the US (NY). I have now deffered my admission to Fall 2006. I got a new job in a different city and will be living there for some time. Can I apply for my next VISA from the new city or do I have to come back to the old one.

Anand, the information may also have come with your I-20 package. There may be an option to defer. But contacting the MBA (or whatever program you are doing) director / representative through email would be the best option IMO. Be prepared to give a very good reason, since deferals, extension of deadlines are hard to get.

I applied to 10 universities for the MBA/MIS program. Got the following replies so far... 1. Uni at Buffalo, SUNY => IN 2. R.I.T => IN 3. Baruch College => IN (For Flex Full Time and not FullTime Cohort) 4. Boston Uni => Not IN 5. Bentley Coll => IN 6. Wake Forest => Waitlisted 7. Georgia St Uni => Not IN 8. Temple Uni => WAITING FOR RESPONSE 9. Case Western Reserve => WAITING FOR RESPONSE (REALLY WANT THIS ONE) 10. Uni at San Francisco => WAITING FOR RESPONSE (BUT DON'T CARE REALLY) Disappointed on not getting BU :(, but life goes on :) I am having a tough time deciding between Bentley and RIT. RIT have already given me a $12,045/- scholarship which includes GA. But I don't mind going to Bentley if it is better whether or not I get a scholarship. What do you guys say?

Got two more replies... WFU -> Waitlisted GSU -> To be considered for Fall 2006 when I get my post grad degree. Currently I am going on a 12+3+1=16 instead of 12+4.

Thanks vogon, dhruv... vogon... I don't know. Buffalo did look like a good one to me in my research and is ranked among the top 60s. Secondly, it is a safety school for me. Almost all the other b-schools listed are better than Buffalo.

Hiya people. Will post all my Admits/Rejects in this thread. I have applied to 10 B-Schools for a MBA/MIS program. Universities: RIT GSU Bentley BU Baruch SUNY, Buffalo -> Admitted :tup: WFU CWRU Temple USF-CA So far got a reply from University @ Buffalo. Waiting for more replies. Just want to know what other people think about this one.

I have started applying for MBA Fall 2005. I know I am short of time. I need to write essays for about 5 universities (2/3 each). But I have the other documents that I'll need to courier them ready. Will it be better to mail them right away with a cover letter stating that I'll submit my online app as soon as I finish my essays or will it be better if I courier the documents after committing the application online? I can indirectly let them know that I will be applying to their university. Do you people have any better suggestion. Please advice.

Are you kidding. You profile is great. You can visit princetonreview.com or businessweek.com and search universities according to your profile. IMO, businessweek's MBA Program search tool is better and offers more comprehensive information. You'll not only get a safe list, but also will get all the info you need. Be sure to check profiles of past years as well.

ritwik, I too feel that your profile is very good and you should get an admit in a good university as long as your SOP and essays are very good. Past academic qualifications aren't the only factor ;). Since you are doing Phd, you'll surely get a good scholarship. BTW, my cuz is currently doing a Phd. in Texas A & M University. I think he is researching a Global Positioning related project.

Applying for MBA Fall 2005. Courried 2 packets through DHL in the last 3-4 day through University Express. The offer is still on. Will have to mail one more tomorrow.

I am researching Univ. of Illinois at Chicago as well. Any suggestions please
