Hello to all,
I am a high school senior who plans to study economics. As of now, I hope to do a PhD. I know plans this early are very likely to change, but it has been my interest for more than a year, and I might as well start planning. My main interest lies in doing policy work at an institution like the Federal Reserve, IMF or World Bank and/or being a professor.
I have been accepted to the Economics undergraduate program at the University of Chicago. I'm also optimistic about my chances at the University of Virginia and College of William and Mary.
My question is whether I should go to UChicago for undergrad? Or should I go to UVA/W&M?
Chicago will be much more difficult, but will it make a big difference when it comes to applying for Grad school?
How much will just an undergrad degree in econ from Chicago help with applying for jobs before grad school?
Just how difficult will UChicago undergrad econ be?
Any other advice is much appreciated.
Thank you,
Shahs
