  1. Besides the Federal Reserve, where do other people apply for research assistant positions? Could you apply to be a research assistant at other universities for a year, and if you can how so? I am greatly considering looking for a research assistant position and taking classes for next year.
  2. Has anyone heard about anything from Purdue? They have a late deadline (Feb 15th), but there was a person admitted on the 18th on GC. Do they send acceptances in batches?
  3. How does placement work for behavioral and experimental economists? I assume that not every school wants/needs them. Also, if you were to go to teach at a liberal arts school or business school how well do behavioral and experimental economists place there?
  4. While we all wait to hear back from graduate schools, I am interested in hearing where students who are interested in behavioral and experimental economics want to go to school. Specifically, I want to know where you applied and what convinced you to apply there. Also, I'd like to know if you would rather attend a better ranked school that didn't put an emphasis on behavioral/experimental or a school school that focused more on behavioral/experimental but isn't as good. Personally, I applied to Carnegie Mellon SDS, Pittsburgh, George Mason, Virginia, Cal Tech, Purdue, Cornell, Duke (and many others that aren't as behavioral/experimental focused). Carnegie Mellon SDS I think best fits my research interests and everywhere else would give me an opportunity to pursue one of the fields. I'm really impressed by Purdue, George Mason, and Pittsburgh even though they aren't as highly ranked. I think I'm leaning towards (if I get in) going to a Purdue or Pittsburgh rather than a Michigan or Boston University.
