  1. The comments by Ziggs in the following post thread were a bit negative: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/phd-economics/151505-choosing-between-rochester-ut-austin-penn-state.html I am happy to hear your comments. I did not completely understood what you meant with: "A married couple (assistant profs) left my second year for Toronto, and another for Wisconsin-Madison (took along with a very good friend of mine from my cohort). Beyond that I haven't seen any churn under this department chair or college dean." Your friend went to finish his PhD to Wisconsin-Madison? Is that possible to change departments once enrolled in one?
  2. I really appriciate your comment TomRod. There are many motives that make me want to go to Austin beyond the program. However, my priority is to choose among my options according first on how good of a match a department might be for me. What you told me makes me really happy. By the way, I read some comments that the atmosphere at UT Austin economics’ department isn´t very nice. Would you agree that this is true?
  3. Hi there! So far I have been accepted to the PhD program of UT Austin, UC Irvine and U Pitt with founding. Moreover, I was accepted to the master's program of Wisconsin with option to try the prelims and then continue as a PhD student. In my case I could find founding from my government for this alternative. Finally, I was waitlisted for PSU. Sadly I will not be able to visit any of the universities. So I need your help! Any suggestions on which is my best option among the aforementioned. I like mostly IO and econometrics. Thanks for your help. :pirate:
